Therefore, by doing so, one can help achieve great goals. For example, if one possesses a precious gem, non-human harm cannot invade, similarly, if one remembers the Three Jewels, non-human harm cannot invade, thus eliminating non-human harm. The so-called Buddha, in reality, refers to one who has abandoned the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations to knowledge, the five aggregates have transformed into another state, the three bodies are perfectly accomplished, and possesses abundant qualities such as strength and fearlessness, is called a Buddha. That Buddha has abandoned all faults and perfectly possesses all virtues, whether heard or known by me, the faith that arises from the depths of the heart, such as tears welling up and hairs standing on end, is called faith. The so-called Dharma, there are three types of Dharma: the Dharma of teaching, the Dharma of realization, and the ultimate Dharma. Among them, the twelve branches of scripture are the Dharma of teaching, the eightfold noble path is the Dharma of realization, and Nirvana is the ultimate Dharma. The ultimate Dharma is the nature of abandoning the origin and suffering. The Dharma of realization is the cause for attaining the ultimate Dharma. The Dharma to be taught is that which clearly shows the meaning of these two, and the arising of joy in the heart is called joy. The so-called Sangha, the Sangha refers to eight types of individuals, who cannot be shaken by demons, etc., nor can they be transferred by heretics, etc., from the Buddha's teachings and established in other teachings such as Vishnu, etc., therefore these eight types of individuals are called Sangha. These Sangha have transcended the mire of samsara, abide on the path of transcending the mire of samsara, and have become fields of merit, and the arising of joy in the heart is called faith. Therefore, faith has three ways of entering: the way of manifesting firm belief in existing objects; the way of manifesting a joyful mind towards those who possess qualities; and the way of manifesting desire for objects that possess qualities, exist, can be obtained, and can be produced. Among them, karma and its results, and the four truths are existing objects.

Ya, believing in the existence of something as it is, is called entering into the aspect of manifest trust in the existing thing. The Three Jewels are called possessing qualities, and to rejoice in the possession of qualities is called entering into the aspect of having faith in the possession of qualities. Nirvana is virtuous and can be attained, and its path can be practiced. Therefore, the arising of the desire to know how to attain Nirvana and how to practice the path is called entering into the aspect of manifest desire, which is a precious thing. In order to show the qualities of faith, it is said, "The mind is clear." For example, just as a jewel that clarifies water is put into muddy water and clarifies the muddy water, this precious jewel that arises from the mind, called "clarity," when it arises in the mind, clarifies and brightens the turbidity of the afflictions and near afflictions that exist in the mind, and therefore it is called clarity of mind. Someone says: It is enough to say "believe and have faith," why is it necessary to say the word "mind"? The answer is: Because clarity is also a form of tangible things, such as crystal and mirrors, etc., if "mind" is not mentioned, it will be assumed that faith is arising in these things, therefore it is said "clarity of mind." These things, such as mirrors, are the nature of clarity of form, while faith is the nature of clarity of mind. Its function is to serve as the basis for desire, because if there is faith, desire will arise. In order to show the nature of knowing shame, the question is asked: What is knowing shame? The meaning is to ask what is the nature and characteristic of knowing shame. The answer is: From the perspective of self or Dharma, being ashamed of wrongdoing. It is said that being condemned by the noble ones, and the maturation of unpleasant results for sentient beings in hells and other places, therefore, sinful actions such as killing are called wrongdoing. Or, in the presence of a master, or an acharya, or holy beings, sinful actions that are not suitable to speak of and cannot be spoken of are called wrongdoing. Whether that sinful action is done or not, I
