Now, the so-called "heat nature" refers to the body having the nature of warmth. The same characteristic should be considered for the external great elements as well. What is the wind element? The so-called "light and moving nature," only "light" is sufficient. Why mention "moving"? Answer: Because form produced by cause is also called "light." If so, it would be sufficient to say only "moving nature." If so, it might be overextended to the mind, because the mind also has the nature of moving. Therefore, to clarify both, any dharma that has the nature of lightness and the nature of moving is called the wind element. Moving means to move, which is a synonym for causing things to move to other places. Then, why is the fifth element, space, not a great element? Because it does not conform to the nature of elements. Elements are beneficial and harmful to sentient beings, but space is not like that, because it has no distinction between container and destruction. Furthermore, the great elements change from states such as seeds, that is, they transform into things under the condition of the sprout state, but space is constant, so it does not change like that, because it does not produce other things. Therefore, it is not a great element. Therefore, the body is consistent with being composed of the four great elements. The four great elements have been explained. These elements should be regarded as indispensable to each other. For example, trees and stones have the characteristics of gathering, producing fire, growing, and falling, so it is obvious that they have the characteristics of water, fire, and wind. In water, one can also observe the characteristics of carrying boats, warmth, and moving, so it is obvious that it has the characteristics of earth, fire, and wind. In flames, one can also observe the characteristics of rising, gathering, and moving, so it is obvious that it has the characteristics of earth, water, and wind. In the wind, one can also observe the sensation of rising and cold and heat, so it is obvious that it has the characteristics of earth, water, and fire. The example here can be seen as a mixture of flour, salt, ash, and beverage. Now, the form produced by cause is to be explained, therefore it is said: What is "form produced by cause"? It has eleven types. What are the eleven? Five faculties, five objects, and form

It is called non-agent. In this case, the four great elements become the cause in five ways when form arises: namely, producing, abiding, relying, trusting, and increasing. Among them, the cause of producing is the cause of producing itself. Because without them, it will not arise. The cause of abiding is the cause of relying itself. Because if the great elements are abandoned, the form that is the cause has no power to abide in another place. The cause of relying is the subsequent cause itself, because if the great elements change, the form that relies on it as a cause will also change. The cause of trusting is the cause of abiding, that is, when similar things arise, the great elements maintain the continuity of the form as a cause in an uninterrupted manner. The cause of increasing is that during the time of increasing, the great elements cause the form as a cause to increase. Thus, these four great elements are the cause of the eleven forms that are caused in five ways. Among them, what is the eye faculty? It is the object of color, the pure form. Because seeing is the eye, and the meaning of dominating is the meaning of the faculty. What dominates what? The eye faculty dominates when the eye consciousness arises in the same way and with completeness. The ear faculty dominates when the ear consciousness arises in the same way and with completeness. Similarly, the faculties of nose, tongue, and body also dominate when the consciousness of nose, tongue, and body arises in the same way and with completeness. The so-called object of color, the pure form, refers to the eye faculty that is the object of the object of form. That faculty is of a pure nature. The so-called pure form refers to the clear part of the eyeball, like ghee water. If it exists, eye consciousness will arise; if it does not exist, eye consciousness will not arise. This should be understood as the pure nature of the eye faculty. What is the ear faculty? The so-called object of sound, the pure form, refers to the ear faculty that is the object of the object of sound. That faculty is of a pure nature. The so-called pure form refers to the clear part of the cochlea, like ghee water. If it exists
