So, how many are the unspecified virtues? This is a question. Ten are all three types, that is, ten are both virtue, non-virtue, and unspecified. So, what are the ten? The seven mind realms, from the realm of eye consciousness to the realm of mind consciousness, as well as the realm of form, the realm of sound, and the realm of dharma. The remaining eight are unspecified, namely eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, smell, taste, and touch, because they cannot be specified as virtue or non-virtue, so they are called unspecified. How many are internal? Twelve, namely eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and from the realm of eye consciousness to the realm of mind consciousness. If there is no self, then how should inner and outer be called? In each individual's body, the continuity of mind that generates the pride of "I" is the self, and based on that, it is called inner. How many have an object? This is because they have an object. Here, the five consciousness realms are completely decisive of the object, because they can determine their respective objects. They also cannot name the object, because they cannot express it in names and letters. The opposite of this should be understood in the realm of mind consciousness. These are also the seven mind realms, namely from the realm of eye consciousness to the realm of mind consciousness. It is also one aspect of the realm of dharma, that is, what arises from the mind, namely the aggregates of feeling, perception, and mental formations. How many do not have an object? The remaining ten are form and a part of the realm of dharma, they are not the nature arising from the mind. Among these eighteen realms, how many have conceptualization? This is a question. The realm of mind, the realm of mind consciousness, and a part of the realm of dharma, namely the aggregates of feeling, perception, and mental formations. How many are grasped? The five internal ones, namely eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body. Four are objects, namely form, smell, taste, and touch.

Those that exist, such as form, in the body, are those that have been grasped. Those that have become external are those that have not been grasped. What is the same basis? It is the five internal forms: eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body. Because one's own consciousness is in accordance with one's own object, this means that the basis of the sense faculties, objects, and consciousnesses is the same, because they grasp by relying on them. It is a synonym for partial similarity and perceptual similarity. That is to say, whatever eye possesses consciousness is said to be the same. What is the same as those? Those themselves are empty of their own consciousness, because they are in accordance with their own kind, which means that the eye without consciousness is called the same as it. The ear, nose, tongue, and body should also be understood in the same way. Commentary on the Five Aggregates, composed by the teacher Yönten Ö (Yon tan 'od), is complete. Translated, edited, and finalized by the Indian abbot Jinamitra, Dānaśīla, and the Lotsawa Yeshe De (Ye shes sde) of Zhuchen. Explanation of the Five Aggregates. Yönten Ö.
