Satya, these are observed in the three realms. Among them, this is the separation from the desire of the gods of Good Departure, while the desire of the upper realms has not yet been separated. By what attention does one enter into samadhi? If asked what enters into this samadhi, the answer is: it is the attention that first arises with the thought of arising. Entering into samadhi is the cessation of what is not included in the mind and mental factors. Those are the six entering consciousnesses, possessing equality, namely eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, and mind consciousness. What is included is the alaya consciousness and the afflicted mind. What is the cessation samadhi? It is the separation from the desire born of the realm of nothingness, transcending upwards from the peak of existence, the attention that first arises with the thought of dwelling, ceasing what is not included in the mind and mental factors, and also certain parts of what is included. There is a distinction here, namely, the attention that first arises with the thought of dwelling, by which one enters into samadhi. The so-called cessation of certain parts of what is included is the cessation of the afflicted mind possessing equality. The former is the samadhi of worldly beings. The cessation samadhi is of these Dharma practitioners, namely the non-returner and the arhat entering into samadhi. Those and so on are the detailed distinctions of those. What is non-perception? It is the result of the non-perception samadhi, namely, being born among the gods in the realm of non-perceptual beings, ceasing what is not included in the mind and mental factors. The so-called non-included is the cessation of the joy of the six entering consciousnesses. This non-perception is the result of the non-perception samadhi. In one direction of the Great Fruit Heaven, the non-perceptual gods dwell, being similar to the special dhyana. What is the life faculty? Among similar beings, whatever formations are thrown by previous karma
