It is the function of relying on not allowing evil deeds to be done. What is diligence? It is the antidote to laziness, that is, the mind is extremely happy with virtue. It is armor, it is application, it is not being timid, it is not regressing, and it is not being content. It is the function of completely perfecting the aspect of virtue and completely accomplishing it. What is suppleness? It is the antidote to unfavorable conditions, that is, the body and mind are capable. Unfavorable conditions are the paths of the ten non-virtuous actions, these are suppleness. It is the function of eliminating all obscurations. Eliminating all obscurations is to see the place transformed by its power. What is mindfulness? It is the antidote to carelessness, that is, abiding in non-attachment, etc., up to diligence, thereby abandoning non-virtuous dharmas and also cultivating virtuous dharmas. Carelessness refers to attachment, hatred, delusion, and laziness. Its antidote is mindfulness, that is, abiding in these four dharmas of non-attachment, non-hatred, non-delusion, and diligence, thereby abandoning non-virtuous dharmas. These are the dharmas with outflows, here one should know what are outflows and what are the places of outflows. Its antidote also cultivates virtuous dharmas, that is, the nature of non-attachment, non-hatred, non-delusion, and diligence, is a different name for these, and mindfulness is established for these. It is the function of completely perfecting all the perfections of the world and beyond. What is equanimity? That is, abiding in non-attachment, etc., up to diligence, and also obtaining equality of mind, tranquility of mind, and spontaneous accomplishment of mind, by which, after eliminating the dharmas of affliction, one abides in non-affliction. The dharma of the nature of non-attachment, non-hatred, non-delusion, and diligence, its own other state is called equanimity, thus the mind possessed of equanimity has no inequality such as sinking, therefore here it is equality of mind. After that, it proceeds without manifest action, therefore it is tranquil conduct. After that, universally

Because there is no doubt, it is called naturally accomplished abiding. It is the function of being an inseparable basis in the case of all afflictions and near afflictions. What is non-harming? It is the antidote to harming, namely compassion. Harming is harming sentient beings, and what becomes its antidote is the part without hatred, namely the mind of compassion. It has the function of not harming. Non-harming is also no different from non-hatred, so it should be understood as a nominally existent. The virtues have been explained. Now the six afflictions are to be explained, and now they are spoken of. What is desire? It is attachment to the five aggregates of grasping and excessive attachment. Because it comes from grasping, it is the aggregates of grasping, like a fire of grass and straw. Because grasping comes from them, they are the aggregates of grasping, like a tree of flowers and fruits. Relying on grasping, like a king's man. Therefore, whatever is the aggregates of grasping, they are also aggregates. Whatever is an aggregate, it must not be an aggregate of grasping, this is established, for example, the aggregates of an Arhat are without outflows. Attachment to things with such a nature is called attachment that follows the three realms. It has the function of generating all suffering. Because of the power of existence, the aggregates of grasping are established. What is anger? It is universally tormenting sentient beings. Because it is similar to an obstacle, it is anger. Sentient beings are nominally established on the continuum of the collection of the five aggregates, and universally tormenting these sentient beings. As it is said, harming me, is harming, will harm, thus generating universal torment, very agitated. Harming my friend, is harming, will harm, thus generating universal torment, very agitated. Doing benefit to my non-friend, is doing benefit, will do benefit, thus generating universal torment, very agitated, just as it is said. It has the function of making happiness unsustainable and being a basis for approaching. Unsustainable
