It is the nature of form that is the cause for the sake of entering. This is here. Saying "Pabi is in Pabina" is an indication. Because that is not here, it is un-indicatable. Hindering others from arising on one's own side is an obstacle. Non-discriminating is impossible because it does not abide in the object, therefore it is impossible, so it is unobstructed. All forms are of three kinds: indicatable and obstructive, un-indicatable and obstructive, and neither indicatable nor obstructive. Among them, what is indicatable and obstructive is the object of the eye sense. What is un-indicatable and obstructive are the five senses such as the eye, and the four: sound, smell, taste, and touch. What is neither indicatable nor obstructive is the form of the dharma-sphere. That also has five aspects: accumulated, manifest, truly taken, completely conceived, and freely obtained. Here, the aggregate of form is said to be neither indicatable nor obstructive as the nature of form arising from what is truly taken, because only eleven entities are accepted. Others are not. Why are those not indicated? What is accumulated is the subtle particles themselves. Those are not different from colors such as blue, and there are no other appearances as colors other than colors such as blue. What is manifest is also the subtle particles themselves. Other than that, those are separated from touch that obstructs. Those are also the nature of color, so here they are the nature of aggregation, so they are not mentioned again. What is completely conceived is the form of images, skeletons, and so on. What is freely obtained is the form of the object of contemplation for those who contemplate liberation. That is the nature of discrimination, so it is not included here, because that appears separately on the consciousness that has its aspect, and it does not exist outside. Images are also the consciousness that appears as an object. There is no image outside of consciousness, and there is no consciousness outside of image. Therefore, only what is truly taken is spoken of here, not others. Driven by a mind of great power, such as self.

I also find it difficult to understand, so instead of explaining these, we should seek the intention of the teacher. That is to say, the form that arises from manifestation and samadhi, that arises from virtue and non-virtue, and that is caused by the mind, whether it is distracted, undistracted, or even when there is no mind, follows along. If it exists without a cause in emptiness, then it is a non-manifesting form, which will be explained as such. Even if the nature of form and action are the same, it does not manifest to others as the mind that arises from oneself manifests, so it is a non-manifesting form. Here, just as the Particularists' imputed manifesting forms do not exist, neither do non-manifesting forms, because they are not objects of valid cognition. The vows of individual liberation and so forth are not non-existent. For example, having promised to do something with the mind, and having performed the ordination ceremony and so forth beforehand, the mind that prevents the actions of body and speech, because that mind of discipline will generate something of the same kind in the future, plants a seed in the alaya-vijnana. Afterwards, the memory arises that I have abandoned killing and so forth, and having arisen, what is forbidden will not violate the training. Thus, the mind of truly taking vows, along with continuity, is taught as discipline. Similarly, if one enters meditation or the path, even if there is no non-manifesting form, if one attains it, one will not engage in wrong speech and so forth after rising, but will engage in right speech and so forth, and will attain such intention and abiding. Therefore, having imputed the effect on the cause, the eight limbs of the path and the discipline of meditation are also established. Non-discipline is also the mind to prepare to kill those born of the same kind, and the mind to promise to do that action for those born of a different kind. Even without that mind, non-discipline is not abandoned, because one has not turned back from the thought of harming sentient beings. Thus, having the mind to act and the mind to promise, and having the thought of harming sentient beings, is non-discipline.
