It is said that it is called going upwards. Some who go upwards from the peak of existence are those who are free from desire for the birth of nothingness. Because there is also dwelling in the fruit and entering the fruit, therefore it is said to be free from desire for the birth of nothingness. The reason why it is not said to be free from desire for the upper realms is that even an Arhat who is free from desire for the peak of existence also has the ability to enter into cessation. By mentioning both being free from desire for the birth of nothingness and going upwards from the peak of existence, it is shown that this is the absorption of a noble non-returner or an Arhat, and not an ordinary person. An ordinary person does not go upwards from the peak of existence. Because there is no antidote to the peak of existence, which is the transcendental path. The undefiled path of seeing is the antidote to the peak of existence, therefore only the noble ones have abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing, and because they are not attached to the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation, they have gone beyond the peak of existence. "With the mind that precedes the perception of abiding" means that the absorption of cessation is not entered into with the mind that precedes the perception of arising, like the absorption of non-perception, but with the mind that precedes the perception of abiding. The absorption of cessation is the peak of existence, and the noble ones do not enter into the perception arising from existence. Because they are completely weary of perception and feeling, and because they are without them, they become a perception of abiding in peace in the absorption of cessation. The perception of equality in dwelling is the perception of abiding. Because it causes abiding, it is abiding, which is a synonym for dwelling at another time. Because the difference of absorption is similar to Nirvana, the mind that manifestly creates the perception that one should abide is called the mind that precedes the perception of abiding. That peak of existence is the finest of the fine, because immediately after it the absorption of cessation will manifest. Those who are not stable, etc.

The so-called "ground" refers to the entering consciousness of those who enter into cessation, which is considered to be six, four, and one consciousnesses respectively in the realms of form and formlessness. The so-called "some of the stable ones" is because there are also those among the stable ones that include the ripening consciousness, therefore "some" is mentioned. The afflicted mind is stable because it exists in all contaminated activities except during cessation and the time of no-more-learning. The so-called "what is cessation" refers to what is done by the entering consciousness, that is, the entering consciousness for the ripening consciousness, and what harms the seeds of the consciousness of the afflicted mind, that is, this can prevent the entering consciousness and the afflicted mind from arising at other times, hence it is called cessation. Thus, cessation can be established, that is, the state in which the seeds of the Alaya consciousness are damaged by the mind of entering into concentration. What is without perception? It is the result of the concentration without perception, that is, what is extinguished by the impermanent mind and mental factors born among the gods of the realm of non-perception, the so-called those gods are the "great fruit", that is, the other three places of the fourth dhyana. Above those, like a house, there is the place of the gods of the realm of non-perception, the ripening fruit of the concentration without perception born there. The so-called "what is extinguished by the impermanent mind and mental factors" refers to the determination of its nature, that is, the impermanent mind and mental factors born there harm the seeds of the mind and mental factors of their own kind in their own place, becoming thinner than thin, and finally becoming very thin, because the seeds of their own place are damaged, so they cannot be combined with other minds. Therefore, the impermanent mind and mental factors do not arise from the place at that time, that is, when the seeds are damaged, there is no thought in the place.
