Numbers and collections, and so on. Now, in order to specifically distinguish the individual self-natures of collections and so on, the question is asked, "What is attainment?" and the answer is given, "Acquisition and possession," and so on. What was not previously attained, but is attained for the first time, is acquisition. What is acquired exists in the second moment and so on, is possession, and what correctly follows after it is called possession. Thus, the term "attainment" is shown to also tend towards acquisition and possession. This is divided into three aspects: seed, power, and manifestation. As for "apply as appropriate," the reasoning is as follows: from the moment of first attainment up to the time of power, it is called seed. Thus, seed can be expressed as both acquisition and possession. Power and manifestation are possession. What is seed? For the consciousness of virtuous, non-virtuous, and indeterminate dharmas, the particular capacity to generate the cause of dharmas of the same kind in the future is the seed. Having acquired the seed, because it depends on it, even if it has not manifested, whatever its seed is, that is called attainment. Power is the state of accomplishing a continuous result in dependence on its conditions. Manifestation is the time when its result is accomplished. Of the unconscious or those without perception; entering into unconsciousness or the samadhi of those without perception is the samadhi of unconsciousness. Freedom from desire for the increased virtue is freedom from desire for the third dhyana. The third dhyana is small virtue, immeasurable virtue, and increased virtue. Among these, whichever is freedom from desire for the increased virtue, that is freedom from desire for the third dhyana. "Not higher" means the fourth dhyana, which is higher than the third dhyana, and the definition is that the fourth dhyana is not free from desire. "Having previously directed the thought of arising" means whoever has the mental activity of having previously directed the thought of arising is the one who has previously directed the thought of arising, thinking of the unconscious as liberation, or thinking of the samadhi as its path.

Therefore, entering the samadhi of non-perception is samadhi. Therefore, the arising perception is the perception of liberation, or the perception of the path to liberation. Here, it is intended to mean the mental activity that prioritizes the arising perception in the manner of refutation. Therefore, even though the mind and mental factors have ceased, it is shown that non-perception itself is the samadhi of non-perception. Thus, by refuting perception itself, the mind and mental factors will transform into a state of complete cessation. As for "What are the impermanent dharmas that can cease the mind and mental factors?", the impermanent dharmas refer to the six aggregates of consciousness, which are included in the entering consciousness and possess the same characteristics. Because they do not exist at all times when there is no mind, and even when there is mind, they are not always present, therefore these are the impermanent ones. The permanent ones are the alaya-vijnana and the afflicted mind together with its corresponding characteristics, because they are always present. Because they exist at all times except when entering the samadhi of the undefiled path truth, when entering the samadhi of cessation, and in the state of no-more-learning, the distinction of "impermanent ones" is specifically mentioned. What is meant by "what ceases" is that which is made by the mind of samadhi, because it causes cessation, it is cessation. At other times, the mind and mental factors and the impermanent ones refer to the differences in the state of the body that are incompatible with universal arising. Thus, it is shown that the samadhi of non-perception is established on the differences in the state of the body. Because the mind of samadhi produces a body that is incompatible with the immediate arising of another mind, it is called that which is made by the mind of samadhi. What is the samadhi of cessation? It means to be free from desire for the sphere of nothingness and to transcend the peak of existence. Even without transcending the peak of existence, there are also ordinary beings who are free from desire for the sphere of nothingness, therefore it is said from the peak of existence.
