Because I am subject to destruction, I affirm that I am momentary. There is no action apart from the agent and the deed. Agents generate actions, and because they are generated, they are deeds. Without action, one cannot establish deed and agent; inevitably, another action will arise there. For that action, there will also be another agent, thus actions and agents will become endless. If one says that action arises without depending on another action, then why not desire to generate a nature separate from other actions? What is the use of fully examining an action that has become another meaning, and whose own essence and power have not even been seen? If agents generate actions but do not generate essence, then the non-existence before and the non-existence after destruction exist in action but not in essence. All essences should be affirmed as either permanent or non-existent. If action is something other than the agents, then establishment will become separate from action. In that case, action will become endless, and establishment will also become non-existent. Because there is no establishment, action will also become non-existent; if there is no establishment, there is no action. Furthermore, if the goer and the going are different, and the fruit and the ripening are different, then because there is no change from the previous state, the goer has not gone to another place, and the fruit will not exist. If one says that action itself is the cause of becoming its own basis, so change from the previous state is not prevented, then change is called becoming a particular nature from the previous one, and that also will not arise without becoming other. Therefore, the former and the latter do not exist simultaneously, so one must affirm that the former is destroyed, and without another time, the latter arises. In that case, how can it become the cause of change, since there is no basis for action and no abiding? Therefore, immediately after obtaining self, it is destroyed, without wavering, without an agent inside, merely the existence of the five aggregates that are taken up, and one clings to other aggregates that did not exist before as permanent, and clings to them as agents and enjoyers, presuming them to be self and what belongs to self. This is not self and what belongs to self.

O! "I" and "mine" are said to be the cutting off of the view of extremes. "Truly following" is said to be distinguishing. "What is defiled wisdom" is said: If there is no ignorance, one will not perceive self in what is without self. Therefore, it is defiled because it is associated with ignorance and because it is inverted. For those that have become one's own continuum, one truly follows as self; for those that have become the continuum of others and are not grasped, one truly follows as mine. When one sees one aspect of what has become one's own continuum as self, then one sees the other as mine. This is the function of being the basis of all views. "By its own power" is said to be the view of the perishable collection (satkayadrishti), and because of the power of the view of the perishable collection, because of its arising, the view of the perishable collection is the master of it. "Permanent or annihilated" is said to be the view of the perishable collection focusing on that very thing as self. Permanent is constant. Annihilated is said to be destruction here without the connection of continuity. "What is the defiled wisdom of truly following" is said to be stated as before. This is the function of cutting off the arising of the middle way. The middle way is knowing dependent arising by abandoning the grasping of permanence and annihilation. "Denying cause, effect, or agent, and the destruction of existing things," etc., that should be done to particular things, but not to all. This is the function of cutting off the roots of virtue and the function of being the basis for holding firmly to the roots of non-virtue. "What is the supreme holding of views" is said to be the holding of views as supreme by holding views, etc., as sacred. "Those three kinds of views" are said to be the view of the perishable collection, the view of clinging to extremes, and wrong views, which are the body of the viewer, the basis on which views arise. "Its place is supreme, chief, especially excellent, and sacred" is said that the words supreme, etc., have the same meaning, but one word is stronger than the other.
