It is the action of relying on not distinguishing the occasion of all afflictions arising. What is non-harm? It is the antidote to harm, which is compassion. Non-harm means not harming by killing, binding, etc., and not harming sentient beings, which is non-harm. The antidote to harm is compassion, which is the severance of happiness. Severance of happiness is a synonym for happiness. Because the compassionate one feels pain when others suffer. This, like mindfulness, is merely a designation. Because it is established in the aspect of non-hatred, it is not substantially existent. It is the action of not harming. The eleven virtues have been explained. Now, the six afflictions will be discussed. What is desire? It is attachment and intense craving for the five aggregates of grasping. The five aggregates of grasping are the five contaminated forms, feelings, perceptions, formations, and consciousness, which are the five aggregates of grasping of form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. Among them, the aggregate of grasping of form is the form of the two realms, and the four aggregates of grasping of feeling, etc., are the feelings, etc., of the three realms. Because it produces existence in the three realms, or because it takes the action of existence, craving is called grasping. Because it arises from grasping, depends on grasping, and grasping also arises from these, they are the aggregates of grasping. Attachment is similar to adhesion, just as oil, butter, etc., penetrate into objects such as cloth, and even with great effort, it is difficult to remove them from their position. Similarly, desire, once it enters its object and spreads, is difficult to separate from that object even with great effort, so it is called attachment. Intense craving is its very nature. Or, in order to distinguish it from the word "softness" which also exists in the difference of tactile objects, the word "intense craving" is mentioned. This is the action of generating all suffering. Because it has the nature of three kinds of suffering, the five aggregates in the three realms are all called suffering.

Suffering is also manifestly accomplished by the power of craving for desire, form, and formlessness. Therefore, it is said that the karma of desire is the cause of all suffering. What is anger? It is said to be the mind that is universally tormented towards sentient beings. To be universally tormented is to have a rough mind towards sentient beings. When oppressed by it, one thinks of harming sentient beings by killing, binding, and so on. This is the basis for non-pleasantness and wrongdoing. Pleasantness is happiness, and being together with it is pleasantness. Not being pleasant is non-pleasantness, which is synonymous with being together with suffering. If there is a mind of universal torment, uneasiness will inevitably arise everywhere, therefore the mind will become afflicted. Because it follows the mind, the body will also become afflicted. Thus, he will live in all his conduct with suffering and poverty. Having a hateful mind, and not being far from any wrongdoing, anger is said to be the basis for non-pleasantness and wrongdoing. What is pride? There are seven types of pride, which means that all pride is characterized by conceit arising from dependence on the view of the perishable aggregate. For example, clinging to these five aggregates as self and mine, fabricating that this is self and this is mine, and being conceited with the differences of each, thinking that one is superior to others. This is the basis for disrespect and the arising of suffering. Disrespect is arrogance towards lamas and virtuous individuals, without service of body and speech. The arising of suffering should also be understood here as the arising of existence. Although there is no difference in the nature of conceit, there are seven different types due to the difference in the cause of conceit, such as pride and great pride, and so on. Being lower in terms of lineage, knowledge, wealth, etc., one is conceited thinking that one is greater in terms of lineage, knowledge, wealth, etc., or being equal in terms of lineage, etc., one thinks that one is equal to them.
