There is no contradiction in whether the son and the seed are in the same place or not. For example, by the power of the consciousness of another continuum, consciousness arises in another continuum. These are both the result of the power and the different places. Similarly, the arising of different transformations also occurs because it is the result of the power. Thus, the treatise maker says, 'This is not a reason,' and so on. This scripture is not a reason to strongly establish the existence of external objects such as form. Thus, because form and so on are taught, it is said according to the intention that sentient beings to be tamed think that the sense bases such as form exist. For example, it is like saying that there are spontaneously born sentient beings, which is the meaning in brief. The treatise maker, in order to explain the example, said, 'For example, the Bhagavan,' and so on. The Bhagavan said that there are spontaneously born sentient beings, which was also said according to the intention. In order to show that intention, he said, 'In the future, the continuum of mind will not be cut off,' and so on. Some sentient beings say, 'I will be cut off at this very moment, and there is no other world.' They cling to the view of annihilation, slander the actions of good and non-good and their results, and do whatever they please. Therefore, in order to wash away the stain of evil views, following the intermediate state of existence after death, that is, the continuum of mind is not cut off, the Bhagavan said that there are spontaneously born sentient beings. 'In the future' means in the next world. 'Intention' means a subtle intention. The Bhagavan said that there are spontaneously born sentient beings with this intention. If someone thinks, what will be revealed if there is no self in the true sense? Therefore, he said, 'There is no self or sentient being here,' and so on. The Bhagavan said that these dharmas that are not from elsewhere are with causes, and there is no self or sentient being here. Taking the sutra that was said as a measure, he taught that there are spontaneously born sentient beings, which is (the Buddha's) intention.

It is certain. Why is the previous sutra intentional, and the latter is not? Answer: Like this, I am not transformed because of being permanent. Like this, whatever should be born is called transformation. If I am not permanent, then from that, where is there anything that should be born? Because of those, this will become transformation. Like this, because the metaphor is explained and combined with reality. Similarly, the Blessed One said "the sense bases of form, etc., exist" and so on. For example, for the sake of those who speak of annihilation, it is said that there are sentient beings born by transformation. Similarly, because form, etc., are shown, for the sake of those who are to be tamed, it is said that there are sense bases of form, etc. That teaching is intentional. That is to say, that teaching is of direct meaning, not of definitive meaning. For the sake of... means the purpose. The sutra master asks about the intention of this sutra. Here, the question of "from what intention" is raised. Just as it is said that there are sentient beings born by transformation, considering that the continuum of consciousness is not interrupted, similarly, here it should also be explained, considering what it is said that there are sense bases of form, etc. In order to show the intention of the author of the treatise. It is said "from where does one's own seed come from" and so on. The so-called "habitual tendencies of discrimination", from which seed of one's own, the discriminations of eye consciousness, etc., arise and appear, that seed and appearance, the Blessed One said that those are the inner and outer sense bases of that discrimination, this is the brief meaning. Like this, temporarily, it is taught for the sake of establishing the ten sense bases. Now, for the sake of explaining them separately. If you ask how it will be explained, it is said "how will it be explained" and so on. The eye consciousness that appears as form, the so-called "habitual tendencies of discrimination that have matured", from which seed of one's own, the seed that has fully matured, the Blessed One said that that is the eye sense base of that discrimination. The appearance of appearance, the Blessed One said that that is the form sense base of that. Similarly, the ear and nose
