Living beings will not gradually walk. Why won't they gradually walk? Why is that? It is said, "Because one step is abandoned," and so on. If abandoning one step can reach all that needs to be reached, then after abandoning one step, why would others need to walk? Where would one gradually walk? Like this, the earth is not divided, but has parts, the essence is one, and it is considered to be without parts, therefore it is not appropriate to walk gradually. That is, like this, how can it be proven that on one object, as an object, there are differences of before and after? In order to point out another fault of these two, it is said, "If one grasps the part on this side," and so on. If all the objects of the eye, blue and so on, are grasped as one, then the part on this side of the wall and so on is grasped, and the part on that side is not grasped, it will not happen simultaneously. Why is that? It is said, "At that time," and so on. Like this, at that time, it is not possible to have both grasping and not grasping on one object. Again, in order to point out another fault of this same one. It is said, "Elephant," and so on. If all that appears to be divided is grasped as one, then in the same place, the many elephants and horses and so on that live there will not appear to be living separately. Why is that? It is said, "Where one lives," and so on. Like this, where one elephant lives, other cows and horses and so on also live there, then how can they be divided? Like this, if the earth is the same essence, then how can beings living in one place live in different places? Lest others fear that fault and think that elephants and so on are avoiding each other and living. It is said, "Those two," and so on. If the object does not appear to be divided, then it is not possible, one place is avoided, elephants and so on live in different places, if that is the case, then how can the places stepped on by the elephant and the horse be one? The place stepped on by those two, and the place that steps, will not be one, this is the conclusion. It should also not be thought that two are stepping on each other.
