It is said, "the aspect of parts," and so on. If, because there are no parts, you do not want to admit the difference in aspects, then, in that case, how can that subtle particle be obscured by other subtle particles? If you think, 'Why would it not be obscured?' therefore it is said, "for any subtle particle," etc. Like this, for any other part, since other particles come, and it is established that other particles obstruct, such other parts, there is nothing at all on the subtle particle. If you think, 'If there is no obstruction, what is the fault?' therefore it is said, "If there is no obstruction," and so on. If a subtle particle is not obstructed by other subtle particles, then, in that case, all subtle particles will become one whole. Therefore, since everything becomes one whole, all aggregates such as Mount Meru will become the size of subtle particles, which has been said before. The non-Buddhist, in order to explain external objects, speaks of shadows and obscurations, etc., in the manner of going. If, because subtle particles have no parts, shadows and obscurations are unreasonable, why do you not admit that the aggregate has parts? The author, in order to analyze the aggregate, said, "from subtle particles," etc. Hey, do you think that the aggregate is something other than subtle particles, or do you think that those shadows and obscurations belong to it? If you think that it is different from those, that is also fine. The Sutra school says, "No," and said this. I do not think that the aggregate is something other than subtle particles. The author said, "It is not another aggregate, that is its name." In order to refute these two, it is said, "If the aggregate is not something other than subtle particles," etc. If you do not want to admit that the aggregate is something other than subtle particles, then shadows and obscurations are established as belonging to that aggregate. The non-Buddhist, in order to refute again, said, "This complete discrimination," etc. For example, although one calls the form, etc., that exists in the way that parts exist, a wheel, but those are not the nature of the wheel. Similarly, for the ultimate destruction of form, etc., one calls them subtle particles, and for things that exist without being, one calls them aggregates.

These are neither the nature of subtle particles, nor the nature of aggregates. Therefore, if the characteristics of form, etc., are not refuted, what is the use of thinking of them as "subtle particles" or "aggregates"? By not refuting these, external objects are also not refuted. The treatise writer, in order to inquire about the characteristics of form, etc., stated, "What are these characteristics?" Please tell us, what are the characteristics of form, etc.? The non-Buddhist says, "The objects of the eye, etc., themselves," and so on. Generally speaking, the objects of the senses such as the eye are the characteristics of form, etc., and specifically, blue and yellow, etc., are their characteristics. The treatise writer stated, "Whatever is the object of the eye, etc.," and so on. What is it that you consider to be the object of the eye, such as blue and yellow, etc.? Is it a single substance with parts, or many things called subtle particles? I will analyze this. The non-Buddhist, not seeing the fault, asks, "What is the use of this? What is the fault in that?" The treatise writer stated, "Many," and so on. The fault of the many aspects is: subtle particles are not many dusts, nor are they aggregates, because in this way, dust cannot be formed. This has already been explained in the previous chapter. The fault of the single one has also been explained, and in order to explain it again, it is stated, "If it is single, there is no gradual movement," and so on. If earth, etc., were a single part, then sentient beings would not have gradual movement. The difference between this side and the other side, whether obtained or not obtained, would not occur simultaneously. If it were single, then many things, such as elephants, gathered together, would not be distinguished. Tiny creatures would also not become invisible, which is the concise meaning. The treatise writer, in order to extensively explain this concise meaning, stated, "If the object of the eye," and so on. If it is thought that the object of the eye, blue and yellow, etc., are separated by rivers and valleys, etc., and that they are all a single entity, then its
