It is the meaning of earth. In order to extensively explain the meaning summarized by the author of the treatise, it is said, "How will it be explained?" etc. If, apart from your consciousness, you assert that the sense bases such as form and sound are the objects of the respective consciousnesses of form and sound, if it is only one, like the Vaibhashikas who believe that the gross part is the nature of the parts and can be grasped by the sense consciousness, or do you consider the many atoms that exist in parts as objects? If it is the collection of those mutually dependent and connected atoms, do you consider it as an object? In the case of the first possibility, it is said, "The only one is not an object," etc. The so-called part-possessor, the only one is not an object, because apart from the parts, no other part-possessor is apprehended. For all things such as pots and blankets, one only apprehends the constituent elements and parts such as threads, and does not apprehend pots and blankets, etc., that are different from them. In order to refute the second possibility, it is said, "Many are also not objects." Many that exist in parts are also not objects, because it is not admitted that one apprehends each individual atom. Because other schools assert that the collection of the five consciousnesses is based on accumulation. In order to refute the third possibility, it is said, "Their collection is also not an object," etc. Those atoms that are close to each other and exist without gaps are also not objects, because the so-called atom cannot be established as a single substance. If atoms are established as real, then why is their collection an object? Or one should consider existing in parts, but those have not been established as real. The non-Buddhist claims that they do not believe that atoms are not established, so they ask how they are not established, thinking that no reason for not being established appears. In order for the teacher to show the reason for not being established, it is said, "Thus, when six are combined simultaneously," etc. In order to explain it in detail, it is said, "From six directions," etc. When does it gather in the center?

When a subtle particle combines with six subtle particles coming from six directions, should it be said that they combine from different directions or only from one direction? If these six subtle particles combine simultaneously from different directions, then the subtle particle in the center will become six parts. Why is that? Because it has been mentioned "where is the position of one," and so on. Like this, whatever one subtle particle presses on the direction of the subtle particle in the center, other subtle particles have no chance. Therefore, it must be located in other directions. Others will also similarly form six parts. Thus, if six parts of subtle particles gather together, how can it become a substance? From the second point of view, it has been mentioned "the six are in one position," and so on. In order to explain this, it has been mentioned "if the position of one subtle particle is where," and so on. If the position of one subtle particle located in the center is also the position of the six subtle particles located on the surface, then many subtle particles will become merely subtle particles because they have the same position. In this way, Mount Sumeru and so on will also become subtle particles. Why is that? Because it has been mentioned "because there is no difference between them," and so on. Like this, in this direction, all the subtle particles are also not different from each other. Therefore, none of its aggregates will appear, and Mount Sumeru will not appear either. The first view is that it becomes a substance because it has parts. The second view is that it cannot be established because it has no parts. Therefore, it will not appear, which is the meaning of the summary. In order for the Vaibhashikas to answer the first view, it has been mentioned "the subtle particles are," and so on. If subtle particles combine, then because six combine simultaneously, they will also become six parts, but they do not combine because they have no parts. Therefore, this will not become the fault of six parts. If subtle particles
