Some also have pride. The pride of thinking "I am" is the arrogance that arises from clinging to the five aggregates of grasping as self and mine, even though they are without self and mine. This is the pride of thinking "I am." The pride of thinking one is superior is the arrogance of thinking "I have attained" when one has not attained the superior qualities that should be attained. This is the pride of thinking one is superior. The pride of thinking one is slightly inferior is the arrogance of thinking that one is only slightly inferior in terms of lineage, etc., compared to those who are superior in lineage, etc. This is the pride of thinking one is slightly inferior. Wrong pride is the arrogance of thinking that one has qualities when one does not possess them. This is wrong pride. Not possessing qualities refers to immoral conduct, etc. Whoever possesses these is one who does not possess qualities. Therefore, thinking "I possess qualities" is to claim to possess qualities even without generosity, discipline, etc. Therefore, since the thing does not exist, it is called wrong pride. Although the term "view" has already been explained in general, since it belongs to the afflictions, it refers only to the five self-natures of the afflictions. It is combined with views such as the view of the aggregates of destruction, and not with the correct view of the world or the view without outflows. Although these do not differ in terms of being afflicted and the manner of conceptualization, they differ from each other in terms of object and aspect. Among these, the view of the aggregates of destruction is the view that clings to the five aggregates of grasping as self and mine. The view of clinging to extremes is the view that clings to the same five aggregates of grasping that have been grasped as self as either annihilation or permanence. Wrong view is the view that slanders the cause, effect, or action of a view, or destroys existing things. This is the most sinful of all views, and is therefore called wrong view. The view of holding views as supreme is the view that clings to the five aggregates of grasping as supreme, superior, principal, and sacred. The view of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme is the view that clings to the five aggregates of grasping as pure, liberated, and definitely liberating.

Doubt is having second thoughts about karma and its results, the truth, and the Three Jewels. It is having various thoughts, wondering whether they exist or not, which is indecision. This is different in nature from wisdom. The six afflictions have been explained. The second section is finished, which is the last. Next, in order to explain the near afflictions. Anger and holding grudges, concealing and resentment and jealousy, stinginess and deception, flattery arrogance harming others shamelessness, lack of shame dullness and excitement, disbelief and laziness, carelessness and forgetfulness, distraction non-intelligence, regret and sleep are also like that, investigation and analysis, these two are the two kinds of near afflictions. Thus it is said. Among them, anger is dwelling on immediate harm, which is the mind's complete torment. This is also the nature of complete torment, and is not different from anger, but this is attributed to a particular stage of anger, so it belongs to anger, dwelling on immediate harm, for sentient and non-sentient objects, it is the mind's complete torment, which is the action of relying on punishment, which is called anger. Holding a grudge is holding a knot. After being angry, thinking, "This person has harmed me," the nature of holding a knot appears, not letting go, constantly arising, which is holding a grudge. This is the action of relying on intolerance. Intolerance is the synonym for wanting to retaliate for harm without thinking about it. This, like anger, is attributed to a particular stage of hatred, so it should be understood as imputed. Concealing is concealing one's own faults, abandoning desire, hatred, fear, etc. If someone says, "You did such a thing at that time," in order to help you, because it belongs to a part of ignorance, concealing faults is concealing. Concealing itself belongs to a part of ignorance, because it is the state of concealing. This is the basis of regret and discomfort.
