Regarding abandonment and so forth, there are two kinds of "abandonment." As for the term "abandonment" in the sense of giving up, it is like saying, "having abandoned a great or small accumulation of enjoyment." As for being separated from continuity, it is like saying, "having abandoned the arising of sinful, unwholesome dharmas." As for suppressing with worldly paths, it is like saying, "having abandoned the desire for desires, he dwells in this many times, and is born sharing the same fate as the Brahma world." As for completely destroying latent tendencies, it is like saying, "from abandoning the three fetters, one becomes a stream-enterer." Similarly, there are abandonment by seeing, abandonment by vows, abandonment by guarding, and abandonment by meditation. In the two sutras spoken to the Hearers, they are divided into two aspects. The word "mode" refers to truth, path, dependent arising, knowledge, decisive factor, nirvana, means, and reason itself. Summary verse: Truth, eight limbs, and arising. From this, the word "noble mode" is also seen in the truths, the path, and dependent arising. It is also seen in knowledges, such as, "I, a Brahmin, declare that in this noble Dharma-Vinaya, one is threefold knowing by means of the noble mode," and so on. It is also seen in those who are in accordance with the decisive factor, such as, "Those who are not in accordance with the four close placements of mindfulness, those are the ones who are not in accordance with the noble mode." The word "mode" is also seen in nirvana, such as, "Whether a householder or a renunciate, whoever perfectly accomplishes, he will attain the Dharma of the unsurpassed mode itself." It is also seen in means, such as, "Having initiated the effort of the mode, there is nothing difficult to do." As for reason, it is like saying, "proper attention." The term "end of action" also exists in seeking wealth and abandoning the three sevens. The end of action, called seeking wealth, is like the extensive explanation, "If he does the end of action of fields, or if he does the end of action of trade, he does it thus and thus." Thirdly, it also exists for abandonment, worldly.

From "What is the end of right action?" it is explained in detail that from abstaining from killing to turning back from killing. Similarly, it is like what is said from sexual misconduct from desire to "from...". There is also for abstaining from seven sins, what is the perfect end of action? From abstaining from killing to "turning back from killing", and similarly, like what is said from speaking idle words to "from...". The word "end of action" is also used for uninterrupted sins, because it is said that "there is no end to evil action." Because there are five kinds of people who deviate from this Dharma and cannot be corrected, namely killing the mother, etc., which is explained in detail in the sutra. The end of action of those evil people is the end of evil action, namely the five uninterrupted sins. Because there is no end to evil action in this, it is the end of evil action, and that thing is the end of evil action itself. The meaning of aggregate is: Accumulation and, Shoulder, trunk, part are also. The meaning of aggregate is accumulation, that is, gathering all these together, called the aggregate of form, etc. Similarly, it is like accumulating a large amount of wealth and abiding. Shoulder, for example, putting a person from the ground onto a bed, riding from horseback to the shoulder of an elephant. Trunk, for example, trees have roots and have thick trunks. Part, for example, one should give alms, giving in three piles. The meaning of collecting is nature and, Following and joy and, Undiminished, belonging and, Holding and six meanings. Nature, for example, the aggregate of form is collected by eleven places. Nature and following, for example, the eightfold noble path is collected by three aggregates. Joy, for example, the four things of collecting. Completely undiminished, for example, this can collect those five roots, for example, the root of wisdom.

It is like the usage of the word "great." Belonging to a category, for example, whichever sentient beings have gone to the birthplace of animals, the footprints of all of them are included and gathered into the footprints of the elephant, like this. As holding, for example, the nine stories of a multi-storied house, the most excellent of these is the general basis, like this, for the sake of gathering. This is just an example. Thus, one word can have multiple meanings, and it should be expressed according to the specific situation. Multiple words expressing one meaning are like synonyms. Furthermore, there are three kinds of meanings: the meaning expressed individually, the meaning of summarizing, and the necessary meaning. Among these, the meaning expressed individually is what is to be expressed by any expression, such as "Conditioned by ignorance are the formations," and the explanation of "What is the path of knowledge?" and so on. The summarized meaning is the meaning summarized by words with different meanings, such as the words of the twelve limbs of existence, which briefly show the three afflictions: the afflictions of affliction, action, and birth, like this. Similarly, non-belief leads to the correct acceptance of complete faith, and from perverted wisdom up to complete wisdom, these words generally and completely show the correct acceptance of the cause of higher realms and definite goodness, along with entry. Like this, faith enters into ethics and so on, and ethics and generosity obtain higher realms gathered by complete body and enjoyment. Wisdom obtains definite goodness, like this and so on. The necessary meaning is the expression of the meaning of the various names that have been spoken, and for these names, there is neither an individually expressed meaning nor a summarized meaning, because what is to be expressed is only one. Similarly, the words that are shown, apart from the explanation, have no other different meanings to be expressed, so why are they shown?
