It is said that doing something unpleasant becomes something depressing. Difficulty is the cause of fatigue from searching everywhere. Suffering is the cause of harm to body and mind, such as killing, binding, beating, etc., which are the source of harm and sorrow from others. Fear is the cause of going to bad destinies. Tending to ruin is sorrow, which is the cause of being far from the path of liberation. The interjection "ཀྱེ་མའོ་ (kye ma'o)" is also seen in the context of wonder, for example, the son of Badasa gladly said, "ཀྱེ་མ (kye ma, interjection), oh, Buddha! ཀྱེ་མའོ (kye ma'o, interjection), the Dharma is well spoken." In the context of sorrow, such as when the essence of the earth is depleted, lamenting "ཀྱེ་མའོ (kye ma'o, interjection), essence of the earth! ཀྱེ་མའོ (kye ma'o, interjection), essence of the earth!" In the context of wishing, such as "Mother, ཀྱེ་མའོ (kye ma'o, interjection)! May I be born with those who are fortunate." In the context of reproach, for example, when committing theft, saying "ཀྱེ་མ (kye ma, interjection), the Brahmin is good," which should be understood here as the context of sorrow. It is said that a thief dug eight holes, entered the king's treasury, drank delicious wine because he was thirsty, fell asleep drunk, and was caught the next day and suffered. Similarly, you have dug the eight holes of lack of leisure, entered the king's treasury born of leisure, drank the delicious wine of attachment to desires, and by being drunk, you cause suffering to yourself in the night of life, which is not appropriate. The story of the sow recalling her previous life in Deva's necklace should also be told. Similarly, because sentient beings have not heard the holy Dharma, although they are born in noble realms, when their strength is exhausted, just as an arrow shot into the sky will eventually fall back to the ground, they will also fall into bad destinies. Therefore, one should approach sad stories with such verses, stories, and past connections. One should tell such stories of wonder, joy, and sorrow in order to make the listener listen respectfully. In the Ornament of the Sutras, the way of explaining the sutras is also explained.

O! Precious and meaningful words should be spoken in many ways. Just as the meaning of words and context are combined, they should be spoken in many ways. Various contradictions and methods of answering should also be spoken and understood in many ways. Possessing these qualities, if one speaks, it is good speech. This verse is said to explain the five qualities of the Buddha's speech: having necessity, having profound meaning, having profound essence, having sequential connection, and being related to reason. Furthermore, it explains: If refuted by others, one speaks pleasantly, not harshly; even if praised or successful, one's mind is not arrogant; one speaks extensively, relating to various things and being understandable; and one plants virtuous roots in the heart, such a person is a wise speaker. This verse is said to explain the two qualities of two kinds of speakers: the two kinds of speakers are those who establish their own school and those who teach the Dharma. The two qualities are completely pure speech and completely pure mind. Among them, the first, completely pure speech, means speaking pleasantly when refuted by others, and not speaking unpleasantly. Completely pure mind means that even when praised and victorious, one does not generate afflictions. The second, completely pure speech, means speaking completely, irrefutably, not contradicting valid measure, and speaking clearly. Completely pure mind means having an unadulterated mind, planting virtuous roots in the minds of others. Just as a man's door is made of wood, just as a waterway is created, similarly, for those with intelligence, this distinction of explaining the sutras should be shown. The fifth chapter of the Treatise on Discrimination is completed. The Treatise on Discrimination, authored by the teacher Vasubandhu, is completely finished. The Indian Khenpo Vishuddha Simha, Shakya Simha, and the reviser, the great translator Bande Tsangde Bendrarakshita, translated, revised, and finalized it.
