Those who wish to accomplish should study the Prajñāpāramitā. Those who wish to accomplish the eighty excellent marks and the thirty-two major marks of a great being should study the Prajñāpāramitā. Thus, when a Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva practices the Prajñāpāramitā, if one gives alms in this way, one will obtain the fruit of great wealth. If one gives alms in this way, one will be born into a royal lineage, like a great Sal tree. Thus, one will be born among the gods of Paranirmita-vaśavartin, and so on. Thus, those who wish to cut off the mind of stinginess should study the Prajñāpāramitā. Those who wish to abandon the mind of immoral discipline, those who wish to abandon the mind of harmful intent, those who wish to abandon the mind of laziness, those who wish to abandon the mind of distraction, those who wish to not delight in the mind of perverse wisdom should study the Prajñāpāramitā. Thus, those who wish to generate the five eyes should study the Prajñāpāramitā. What are the five? The flesh eye, the divine eye, the eye of noble wisdom, the Dharma eye, and the Buddha eye. Thus, if there are blind sentient beings in the east, I shall cause them to see forms with their eyes through my power, then one should study the Prajñāpāramitā. Causing the deaf to hear sounds with their ears, causing the mad to regain their memory, causing the naked to obtain clothing, causing the hungry sentient beings to be satiated, causing the thirsty to be quenched, causing those born in evil destinies to be liberated from those evil destinies and obtain a human body, causing those with immoral discipline to be established in the aggregate of discipline, causing those who are not in meditative equipoise to be established in the aggregate of samādhi, the aggregate of liberation, the aggregate of the knowledge and vision of liberation, causing those who have not seen the truth to be established in the fruit of stream-entry, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the state of Arhatship, the Bodhi of a Pratyekabuddha, and

If one wishes to attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should train in the Prajnaparamita, and things like separately confessing all sins have also been explained. If words such as "without inherent existence" are only literal meanings, then this will contradict all of these. Because there is nothing to be accepted, it is not permissible to accept it in that way, saying, "From this cause, it will become like this." Or, if one is to accept it in that way, what should one accept? Therefore, one should not definitively take those words as their literal meaning, because it contradicts other Sutras. What is it then? It is with hidden meaning. For example, the verse, "Father and mother were killed," and the verse, "Not knowing mother and what was done," even without explaining the definitive meaning, should not be definitively taken as the literal meaning, because it contradicts other Sutras. What is it then? It is with hidden meaning. Even if this is contradictory, if someone thinks that some people will rely on the view that they have not been deceived in this way, and therefore it is made into a treatise so that those with weak minds will not be misled, why not think so? Like this, even saying that, if some are attached to the view that everything is empty, thinking that everything is only appearance, that is the fault of those people's wisdom, or because of past karma of lacking Dharma, etc., that causes them to degenerate in that way, but this is not what causes degeneration. How is this known? Combine it with what was said above, "because it contradicts." Other Sutras also say: Those who understand the meaning, words, and letters of the profound things spoken by the Tathagatas, understand the hidden meaning, accord, do not contradict, combine, do not harm, understand the meaning, and do not chase after the words, know that they will receive these qualities and greater happiness. Therefore, if someone clings to the literal meaning, that itself will cause beings to be misled.
