Furthermore, the mind does not engage in cessation because the coarse pride of "I" is obstructive and pervades without obstruction. Therefore, if one thinks, "What are 'I' and 'mine'?", the mind turns back due to the cause of complete disgust. When the wisdom arising from meditation eliminates the pervasive pride of "I" through antidotes, then, because of possessing fearlessness and so on, it is from engaging up to liberation. "For the sake of guarding the eye faculty, and for the sake of concealing, and for the sake of abiding in tameness, one has gone forth," this is a section of the Sutra. Here, relying on mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom, in order, for the sake of guarding the eye faculty, and for the sake of concealing, and for the sake of abiding in tameness, one has gone forth. Moreover, in the object to be engaged in, for the sake of guarding, that is, for the sake of blessing with mindfulness. From the object not to be engaged in, it is for the sake of concealing, that is, because it is not engaged in it. Through this, in order to completely destroy the latent tendencies of the pervasiveness of afflictions, because of cultivating antidotes, it should be known that for the sake of abiding in tameness, one has gone forth. "These six faculties are extremely tame and extremely concealed," this is a section of the Sutra. Here, in order to completely destroy all the latent tendencies of afflictions, it is extremely tame. Relying on the power of individual examination, with mindfulness and awareness, not generating the pervasive entanglement of afflictions, it is extremely concealed, and because of not accepting what has arisen, it is extremely guarded. Relying on the power of worldly meditation, it is extremely restrained. Relying on the supramundane, it is extremely cultivated. Thus, the tameness of the mind, complete with skillful means, is completely stable. Here it is also said: "Because of mindfulness, it is concealed because it is not born; with awareness, it guards against what has arisen; with suppression and destroying the root, it is considered restraint and cultivation." From the scriptures, because one does not engage in what should not be engaged in, it is extremely concealed. For what should be engaged in, mindfulness is extremely close.

Because of abiding, one must diligently guard. In order to prevent oneself from running after external objects, one must diligently protect. In order to prevent oneself from becoming completely afflicted, one must diligently cultivate. Thus, one is extremely subdued. This is the mind that is loving and possesses loving-kindness, without hatred, without rivalry, which is called a fragment of the Sutra section. Among them, the thought of benefiting and bringing happiness to other sentient beings is loving-kindness. The mind that is in accordance with this is possessing loving-kindness. This is the antidote to the three near afflictions, therefore it is without hatred and without rivalry, and without harm. The three near afflictions are holding resentment towards those who are equal and especially superior who cause harm, holding jealousy towards those who do not cause harm, and towards those inferior ones who possess the former two, due to ignorance, anger arises, thereby causing harm to them. Because the fruit is great, it is vast. Because it is the conduct in form, it becomes vast. Because it is focused on immeasurable sentient beings, it is immeasurable. Because the opposing side is extremely subdued, it is extremely cultivated. Thus, the mind of the antidote itself, the fruit itself, the ground itself, the object itself, and the purity itself, is thus completely shown. In one direction, this indicates the dweller of the place, for example, calling out to the beds, like saying "the wild animals in the mountains." Faith, this indicates the very intention of faith. Having done universally, this indicates showing universally, because of having faith in everything simultaneously. Having done completely, this indicates that the actual samadhi has manifested, this indicates that. Abiding, this indicates that one also enters into it at other times. Having initiated diligence and without being discouraged, the body is extremely subdued and without having committed evil deeds, this is a fragment of the Sutra section. Among them, the latter words and the four words with distinctions should be understood in order as the antidotes to the four types of minds. The four types of minds are excessive discouragement, excessive grasping, and inward contraction.
