The cause of arising is its own nature. It should be known that this is craving. In terms of the classification of states, there are six types: pervasive practice, acceptance, suppression, viewing as a virtue, manifestation, and the classification of states of non-abandonment. Due to the cause of properly grasping unwholesome dharmas, abiding in suffering in the nature of seeing the Dharma, this is a section of the Sutra. Among them, "suffering" refers to the teaching, and the rest is explanation. Among them, accompanied by suffering, such as being frozen by the wind when it is cold while seeking, this is explained extensively. Accompanied by poverty, it is because it corresponds to the poverty of desire, at the time when there is no wealth. Accompanied by harm, it is because it corresponds to the harm of kings and thieves, etc., when universally guarding, being harmed by sticks and weapons, etc. Accompanied by universal torment, it is because it corresponds to the universal torment of sorrow, dissatisfaction, and piercing the heart, that is, in times of decline, enjoyment, and death, in order. "Having repeatedly practiced and cultivated killing, having done it many times," this is a section of the Sutra. Among them, "pervasive practice" indicates that it has already been done, and "cultivating many times" means accumulation, that is, through diligence and repentance, making it grow through thought and action. Here, cultivation is done, or cultivation arises, or in terms of a definite word, because it has been cultivated, it becomes cultivation, that is, merely thinking. As it is said: "Even if a sin has been committed, one should not do it again and again. Accumulating sins only gives rise to suffering. One should not rejoice in this." It's like that. Here, rejoicing refers to diligence. Doing it again and again and rejoicing refers to accumulation, which is in the name of universal accumulation. Whatever accumulated karma is, that will definitely ripen. For some people, it may also become done, because of small merit, or because of the difference between the field and consciousness. If done and accumulated are indicated by pervasive practice, etc., then the impure pervasive practice is repeatedly practiced and cultivated.

If asked, how is it possible that repeated practice can become a great fruit? For this, diligence and repeated practice are necessary. It is also like this, it also shows having birth, abiding, and increase. Furthermore, there are the stages of union, attainment, and accomplishment. Furthermore, there are the stages of mental engagement with power and opportunity, and without opportunity, that is, when one has not attained, has attained, and is accustomed to Samadhi. Again, it is the stage of the three aspects of Yogic practice, the three aspects of Yogic practice are the initial practitioner, the completely purified, and the one who has transcended mental engagement. There are also other kinds, for the sake of manifestation, for the sake of increasing the seeds in the mind, and for the sake of the manifestation of the increased seeds, there are three such as constant reliance. Although there are many kinds of things to be said, the speaker is one, this has been established. The so-called five obscurations are sections of the Sutra. The necessity of only five is that for practicing Samadhi, the obstacles are two obstacles. The obstacles to entering Samadhi are three, namely, the mind withdrawing inward, scattering outward, and the certainty of correct practice cannot be obtained. Furthermore, for practicing Shamatha and Vipassana, the obstacles are two obstacles, for the practitioner entering Shamatha, because there is the fault of dullness, the obstacle of Shamatha is one, if entering the practitioner of Vipassana, then because there is the fault of non-peace and uncertainty, the obstacles of Vipassana are two. Furthermore, the obstacles of morality are two, namely, the two of desire and hatred will cause the morality of breaking precepts to arise completely. The obstacles of Samadhi are also two, namely, the mind withdrawing inward, scattering outward. The obstacle of wisdom is one, namely, the inability to obtain correct certainty. It is said in the scriptures that the obstacle of morality is one, because it causes the decline from pure conduct. The obstacle of instructions is also one, because that person cannot tolerate words.

It is said that in the stages of tranquility, superior insight, and equanimity, there are three obstacles to accomplishment. These three, namely skill and knowledge, are the basis and origin of the actions of sentient beings, which is a passage from the Sutra Pitaka. Among them, the basis and origin of actions refer to the cause that enables entry and subsequent entry. If one accepts attachment and so on, it will provoke all misconduct; if one is not afraid, one will not turn away from misconduct. Therefore, this is what has been done and accumulated. Furthermore, attachment and so on also show the state of universal behavior and suppression. Therefore, it is said in the sutra that attachment and being suppressed by attachment. If one is not suppressed, it will not provoke the actions arising from it. Furthermore, this is also the state of combination and the ultimate state. What is the state of combination for mental misconduct? It is through attachment and so on that one later determines to take the property of others as one's own. Furthermore, attachment and so on are the basis of actions, speech, and thoughts of body, speech, and mind, and are the origin of the mind. If this is the case, then the origin should also be mentioned in the aspect of virtue. In the first set of categories, since the appearance of "the basis is exhausted," it is also completely established that the origin is exhausted, so it will not change. In the treatise of Venerable Upagupta, it is quoted that "the three bases are for the purpose of causing actions to arise," according to their view, there is also no fault of repetition. Why not mention that non-attachment and so on are also the root of virtue, the basis and origin of actions? Because this is to correctly show the antidote to attachment and so on, otherwise their antidote cannot be correctly shown. Therefore, these discriminations are unwholesome, painful, non-noble, and associated with meaninglessness, which is a passage from the Sutra Pitaka. Among them, unwholesome is because the result is unpleasant. Painful is because what is seen
