Done. Because it is free from the attraction of past karmas and afflictions at the end. That suffering is also the basis for karma and afflictions to transform into other existences. Conversely, it is said. Why is it not accumulated? Because it is now the basis for afflictions not to accumulate. In the manner of its continuous flow, the continuum of existence will arise again. Conversely, it is said. Why is there no birth? Because it is free from the cause of future arising. The cessation of suffering, the noble truth, should be understood in order as unborn, unmanifested, unmade, unaccumulated, and without birth. Furthermore, the characteristics of the truth of cessation should be understood as fourfold: the characteristic of cessation, the characteristic of peace, the characteristic of excellence, and the characteristic of definite emergence. Why is it the characteristic of cessation? Because it is free from afflictions. It is considered in terms of being free from the afflictions that are the cause of arising. Why is it the characteristic of peace? Because it is free from suffering. It is considered in terms of being free from the aggregates of grasping, which are not pacified by the suffering of conditioning itself. Why is it the characteristic of excellence? Because it is a pure and blissful thing. Because it is free from afflictions and suffering. It is considered in terms of its nature being pure and blissful. Why is it the characteristic of definite emergence? Because it is the basis of permanence and benefit. It is considered in terms of the nature of permanence and benefit. Also, for the sake of non-regression and happiness. Benefit, virtue, and in order. The various determinations of the truth of cessation are complete. What is the truth of the path? By which path suffering is fully known, the origin is abandoned, cessation is realized, and the path is cultivated. This is a brief summary of the characteristics of the path. It should be understood that the characteristics of the truths are shown by the occasion of this action. Again, there are five paths: the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, and the path of completion. The so-called five paths are extremely divided.

Due to conditions. This detailed distinction should also be understood in terms of the truth of the path and its related conditions. Among them, what is the path of accumulation? It is the morality of ordinary beings, guarding the doors of the senses, knowing the measure of food, not sleeping during the upper and lower parts of the night but diligently practicing yoga, and delighting in abiding in mindfulness. Furthermore, there are other virtuous roots that accord with the cause, as well as the wisdom arising from hearing, the wisdom arising from thinking, and the wisdom arising from meditation. By cultivating these, one can attain realization and obtain the vessel for becoming the place of liberation. Therefore, the path of accumulation starts from the morality of ordinary beings and extends to abiding in mindfulness. By perfecting morality and so on, one becomes warm, which is for the purpose of seeing the truth in order, and for the purpose of eliminating the obscurations to it, thereby obtaining a suitable mind-stream. Furthermore, other virtuous roots that accord with the cause, and so on, should be understood as freedom from regret and so on. What is the path of preparation? Whatever belongs to the path of accumulation also belongs to the path of preparation. There are those that belong to the path of preparation but do not belong to the path of accumulation, namely, the virtuous roots that correspond to the part of discernment after accumulating merit, that is, the heat, the peak, the forbearance that accords with the truth, and the supreme mundane dharma. What is the heat? It is the samadhi that obtains the appearance of each of its own truths, and is accompanied by being in accordance with wisdom. With the mind in equipoise, with the truth as the main focus, through the sutras and so on, in the manner of mental expression, the union of shamatha and vipashyana in which the meaning appears, should be understood as the heat. What is the peak? It is the samadhi in which the appearance of each of its own truths increases, and is accompanied by being in accordance with wisdom. Among them, increase is the peak, because it is situated below it. What is the forbearance that accords with the truth? It is the samadhi that has entered one side of each of its own truths and follows it, and is accompanied by being in accordance with wisdom. How does one enter one side? That is, uniquely
