Because the accumulated habitual patterns are the factors that arise in the respective categories of sentient beings, one should know the nature of arising. The accumulated habitual patterns of sentient beings, in the categories of gods and other sentient beings, as factors that are similar to their appearance and nature, are called arising. What is the nature of excellent arising? Because it is the factor of each, self, form, and excellent arising, it should be regarded as the nature of excellent arising. Each determines its own lineage, and arises excellently in various forms in actions, birthplaces, etc., up to the place of action of the peak of existence, the factor of arising is called excellent arising. What is the nature of condition? Because it is the factor of obtaining others and passing away, one should know it as the nature of condition. Obtaining other bodies that have not appeared before, and the factor of the passing away of bodies previously obtained, is called condition. The determination of what is called the truth of arising is complete. What is the truth of cessation? One should know the truth of cessation from the aspects of nature, profundity, terms, ultimate meaning, unfulfilled, fulfilled, unadorned, adorned, with remainder, without remainder, particularly excellent, and names. How is it in terms of nature? It is suchness, the path, and the non-arising of afflictions, that is, where cessation occurs, by what it ceases, and what ceases. As the Bhagavan said: Where the eye and ear, as well as the nose, tongue, and body, the mind, and also name and form, will all completely cease. It is also said that where the eye ceases, the perception of color no longer arises, between dharmas ceases, the perception of dharmas no longer arises, that should be known as the place. In these terms, it is the nature of ceasing contaminated things where one focuses on suchness. By what does it cease, where does it cease, and what ceases? How is it in terms of profundity? One should not regard the cessation caused by the destruction of these formations as other, nor should one regard it as non-other. It is also not other, not non-other, and also not non-other.

It should not be considered as such either. If, for some reason, the cessation caused by these formations (referring to the five aggregates, etc.) is something else, then it is unrelated. That would become something else. If it is not something else, then it would become the nature of complete defilement. Therefore, it is neither. It is neither neither. Why is that? Because there is no elaboration. Elaboration here refers to improper attention to things, thinking about things. Not the path, not the lineage, not the method, thinking is called things. How did the Blessed One say it? If it is said that the six sense bases are exhausted, destroyed, ceased, pacified, and exist apart from ability, then it is elaborating on non-elaboration. Or is it said that there is no other existence? Or is it said that there is both existence and non-existence? Or is it said that it is neither another existence nor non-existence? This is also elaborating on non-elaboration. As long as the six sense bases exist, that is elaboration. When the six sense bases cease, there is no elaboration, which is Nirvana. Therefore, non-elaboration is Nirvana. Elaboration is improper attention. What is attended to is different, and what is to be attended to is also different. What is attention like? It is the aspects such as peace and abundance. What is conventional? It is the cessation caused by the deterioration of the seeds of the worldly path. Therefore, the Blessed One spoke of its partial Nirvana in its category. What is ultimate truth? It is the cessation caused by the complete destruction of the seeds of the wisdom of the noble ones. What is incomplete? It includes the stream-enterer fruit, or includes the once-returner fruit, or includes the non-returner fruit, which is the cessation of those who are still learning. What is complete? It includes the Arhat fruit and the cessation of those who are no longer learning. What is without adornment? It is the cessation of the Arhats who are liberated by wisdom. Because there is no particularly excellent adornment such as reason. What is with adornment? It is liberation from both divisions, possessing the three knowledges and
