Thinking of the most appropriate aspect, from giving to renunciation. What is black karma by action and white karma by intention? For example, when someone wants to turn away from what is unhelpful to a child or disciple and wants to engage in what is helpful, and when they act forcefully in body and speech with a loving heart, that becomes entirely afflicted. What is karma that is neither black nor white, does not ripen, and exhausts karma? Actions and uninterrupted paths are unpolluted karma. Because it is the antidote to actions and uninterrupted paths. That which does not abide is because it is without the stain of affliction. White is because it is utterly pure. Not ripening is because it is contrary to samsara. Exhausting karma is because it is truly transformed. Here, the three types of karma that are neither black nor white are unpolluted karma. Therefore, the unpolluted is completely severed because it does not take ripening. Therefore, without distinction, among all these unpolluted karmas, the interruption, the conformity, and the freedom of nature, one should know that the mediocre, the faults, the turbidity, the purity, and the capable are established in order. Among them, the mediocre is the karma of body, speech, and mind that obstructs the arising of the straight path, the noble eightfold path. The fault is the karma of body, etc., that causes extreme aversion in the mind stream and arises as an obstacle of that kind. The turbidity is the karma of body, etc., that relies on the views of non-Buddhists, because it is completely grasped by the turbidity of disbelief, which is the opposite of faith in the Buddha's teachings. Another name is falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, and it is mediocre because it does not conform to the Middle Way. Because it holds onto the view of defamation and hates the establishment of purity, it is a fault. Because it holds onto the view of the aggregates of destruction and cuts off the view of selflessness alone, it is called turbidity. Purity is completely grasped by extremely pure discipline and completely

What are the actions of body, speech, and mind then? It is for the sake of abandoning the defilements of ethics and wrong views. For the capable, the actions of body, speech, and mind of both learners and non-learners are without outflows, because that is the action of the capable ones. What is the action of giving? Its basis, motivation, object, and essence should be understood. The basis is non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance. The motivation is feeling, because it is accompanied by these. The object is the object to be given. The essence is the action of the body and the action of speech when it is emptiness. How is giving perfect? Because of giving to a superior field, giving without discrimination, and giving completely fulfilling desires. These should be understood as being under the power of perfect giving, because the statement "he will become a giver" indicates giving to a superior field, because he has become of that nature, so he gives again and again. Giving to cherished ones such as ascetics and brahmins indicates giving without discrimination, because giving is without distinction to all desires. Giving food and so forth indicates perfect giving, because all the bases of utensils that are not rotten and without defilement are completely given away as desired. Furthermore, giving without attachment, giving extensively, giving with joy, giving to a superior field, giving to a vessel, and giving by properly dividing to attendants and unexpected guests should be understood as perfect giving. Giving generously, extending the hand, delighting in giving, having the habit of making offerings and giving, perfect combination, and delighting in properly distributing giving, these should be understood in accordance with the order of the words such as giving without attachment. Giving without attachment should be understood as not dedicating it entirely for the sake of existence and enjoyment. How should it be understood that the object to be given is perfect? The object to be given is not made up of harm, and for giving
