Therefore, it is combined with suffering. It should be known in what way and with what something is combined. What is combination? The combination that follows attachment is the very nature of desire in the three realms, which causes combination. In what way does it combine? One who is associated with this, not being disgusted with the three realms, practices all non-virtue and does not practice virtue. With what does it combine? It combines with the complete manifestation and accomplishment of suffering in the future. Similarly, the combination of anger and so on should also be applied. What is the combination of anger? It is the mind's extreme vexation towards beings, suffering, and the dharmas that are the place of suffering. One who is associated with the combination of anger does not abandon the mind from the cause of anger, therefore practices non-virtue and does not practice virtue. Therefore, it causes the manifestation and accomplishment of suffering in the future, thus it is combined with suffering. What is the combination of pride? There are seven types of pride, namely pride, great pride, pride above pride, the pride of 'I am', superior pride, inferior pride, and false pride. What is pride? For those who are inferior to oneself, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I am great', or for those who are equal to oneself, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I am equal'. What is great pride? For those who are equal to oneself, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I am great', or for those who are superior to oneself, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I am equal'. What is pride above pride? For those who are superior to oneself, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I am even greater'. What is the pride of 'I am'? For the five aggregates of grasping, the mind arises with the arrogance of truly observing 'I' or 'mine'. What is superior pride? Without having attained the superior qualities, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I have attained'. What is inferior pride? For those who are extremely superior in qualities, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I am only slightly inferior'. What is false pride? For those who do not possess qualities, the mind arises with the arrogance of 'I possess qualities'. One who is associated with the combination of pride cannot fully know the clinging to self and the clinging to what belongs to self. If one can fully know, then one can destroy

and clinging to "I," thus engaging in unwholesome actions and not engaging in wholesome actions, so that suffering manifests in the next life, connecting with suffering. What is the complete binding of ignorance? It is not knowing the three realms. Being associated with the complete binding of ignorance means being particularly attached to the laws of suffering and the laws of arising. Because one does not understand the defiled formations that are the result and the cause, and their faults. Because of being particularly attached to these, one engages in unwholesome actions and does not engage in wholesome actions, so that the suffering of the next life manifests, connecting with suffering. What is the complete binding of views? There are three views: the view of the aggregates of existence, the view of holding to extremes, and wrong views. Being associated with the complete binding of views means completely seeking wrong liberation and being attached to it. Being associated with the complete binding of views means seeking wrong liberation, which means "I will be liberated," "I am liberated," "After I am liberated, I will also be permanent," or "I will be annihilated, there is no liberation in the Buddha," and one will always be associated with it. Because of being attached to wrong liberation, one engages in unwholesome actions and does not engage in wholesome actions, so that suffering manifests in the next life, connecting with suffering. What is the complete binding of holding as supreme? It is holding views as supreme and holding discipline and asceticism as supreme. Being associated with the complete binding of holding as supreme means contemplating the means of wrong liberation, abandoning the noble eightfold path, and believing that one can be purified by the view of the aggregates of existence, etc., and the discipline and asceticism that precede it. Because of attachment, one engages in unwholesome actions and does not engage in wholesome actions, so that suffering manifests in the next life, connecting with suffering. What is the complete binding of doubt? It is having doubts about what is true. Being associated with the complete binding of doubt means having doubts about the Buddha Jewel, and having doubts about the Dharma Jewel and the Sangha Jewel. Having doubts about the Jewels
