O! In the conclusion of the main body, it should be understood from what is called the proximity of the second dhyana up to the peak of vast existence. By the power of equipoise, sometimes the mind that is in equipoise with purity gives rise to two kinds of purity, and sometimes it is afflicted. By the power of projection, when arising from samadhi and moving about, as long as the conflicting afflictions do not fully arise and decline, then the mind of the state of abiding with investigation and the moment of non-abiding follow. The arising of the mind that is incompatible with this and is associated with afflictions should be understood as being caused by the power of walking and so on. Among these, by the power of cause, if the obscurations that will inevitably completely decline have been previously accumulated. By the power of the object, the appearance of objects that are in accordance with the arising of afflictions such as desire, and in which the power of signs such as ugliness is predominant. By the power of mindfulness, if the conceptual thoughts of mindfulness affect the past object. By the power of attention, if it is the attention of behavior, attending to any sign of ugliness. By the power of connection of rebirth, there are nine kinds of newly dying minds, namely, those that are associated with attachment to the body, and the respective desire realms in the three realms, as well as the aggregates of form and formlessness. Among these, the mind that dies from the desire realm and is reborn in the desire realm itself, which is associated with attachment to the body in the desire realm, should be known as the mind of death. The mind that dies from the desire realm and is reborn in the form and formless realms should be known as the mind of death in the form and formless realms. Similarly, the minds that die from the form and formless realms and are reborn in the same or different places should also be combined into six types. Attachment to objects is co-emergent, does not apprehend objects, and is obscured and unspecified. It should be known that the objects of this co-emergent attachment to the body are completely undetermined. Due to its power, the immediately following individual

Sentient beings take rebirth in the intermediate state of existence (antarabhava). Noble ones who have not separated from desire, as long as they have not entered a state of unclear consciousness at the time of death, that existence arises everywhere. Those are completely understood and cut off by the antidote. Noble ones who have separated from desire, although not abandoned, do not arise everywhere because of the great power of the antidote. By the power of their latent tendencies, they take rebirth. The moment of rebirth in the intermediate state of existence is always unobscured and indeterminate, because it is a result of maturation. After that, good, non-good, and indeterminate are combined as appropriate, except for the mind of dying. The mind of dying in the intermediate state is always afflicted, like the existence of dying. Rebirth should always be understood as unobscured and indeterminate. Bodhisattvas, because of the power of their vows, all the dying minds of beings, etc., should also be understood as purely good. This is the end of the chapter on immediately preceding conditions. How is the object of perception? The object of perception that completely ceases, the object of perception that does not completely cease, the object of perception that does not grasp the object as distinct, the object of perception that grasps the object as distinct, the object of perception of an object with substance, the object of perception of an object without substance, the object of perception of a completely imputed object, the object of perception of inversion, the object of perception of non-inversion, the object of perception with obstruction, and the object of perception without obstruction should also be regarded as the object of perception condition. Among them, the object of perception that does not completely cease is the object of perception of the five consciousnesses, because the objects of the five consciousnesses are determined separately. The object of perception that completely ceases is the object of perception of the mind consciousness, because all phenomena are the object of perception of the mind consciousness. The object of perception that does not grasp the object as distinct is the object of perception of the mind consciousness of those who are not skilled in names, because they cannot create letters from names. In the object
