It is the earth lord himself who directly realizes it. Consciousness is what each individual experiences for themselves. The term "establishment" means that it is understood through explicit expressions. What are the characteristics of formations? They are the characteristics of manifest formations. That is, with the nature of the mind's manifest formations, whether virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral, the mind enters into various states. The various states are states such as happiness. What are the characteristics of consciousness? It is characterized by consciousness. That is, with the nature of consciousness, forms are also known, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, and dharmas are also known. What is the characteristic of the eye element? It is that for the eyes, forms are visible and observable. That is, the seeds of it are accumulated, and the ripened consciousness is fully received, that is the characteristic of the eye element. "For the eyes, forms are visible and observable" means that the past consciousness is closely practiced, and the nature of grasping is shown as the element itself. "Observable" means that the present consciousness is closely practiced, with the nature of grasping. Whatever consciousness accumulates the seeds of the eye and universally receives them is an element, from which the eye is later accomplished. Ripening is also an element, from which it is already accomplished. Both of these seeds are the cause of the eye, so it is called the eye element. How is the eye element? The ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind elements are also the same. What is the characteristic of the form element? That is, for the eyes, forms are endowed with visibility and are visible, and whatever the eye element controls, that is the characteristic of the form element. The eye element controls form, because by the control of the sense faculty, the external object is accomplished, having the distinction of its own basis and object. How is the form element? The characteristics of the sound, smell, taste, tactile object, and dharma elements are also the same. What is the characteristic of the eye consciousness element? The basis is the eye, the object is the form, each

The manifested consciousness, that is, the consciousness that accumulates that seed and receives the ripening, that is the characteristic of the realm of eye consciousness. Similarly, the characteristics of the realms of ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind consciousness are also the same. What is the characteristic of the source of birth? It should be observed like the realm. And how should it be observed reasonably like the realm? And how is it reasonable? That is, the eye by which one can see all forms, and that seed, etc., should also be added. What is the aspect of the form aggregate? Any small form, all of that is the four great elements, and what is made by the four great elements. In "what is made by the four great elements," what is the made form? Because it is the cause of production, transformation, abiding, harm, and growth. For the form made by the elements, in terms of the five causes, production and so on are themselves the cause, because without them, it will not arise. The cause of transformation is that if the elements change, then the form made that abides on it will not abide. The cause of abiding is that at the time of similar arising, the elements hold the continuum of the made form in an uninterrupted manner. The cause of harm is that if the elements are removed, then the made form has no power to harm the objects separately. The cause of growth is that at the time of growth, the elements cause the made form to fully grow. What are the four great elements? They are the earth element, the water element, the fire element, and the wind element. What is the earth element? It is hardness. What is the water element? It is wetness. What is the fire element? It is warmth. What is the wind element? It is lightness and movement. What is the made form? It is the eye faculty, the ear faculty, the nose faculty, the tongue faculty, the body faculty, form, sound, and smell.

That which is produced from the four great elements, the support of nose consciousness, the third form. What is the tongue faculty? That which is produced from the four great elements, the support of tongue consciousness, the primary form. What is the body faculty? Among them, there are good colors, bad colors, those that are in between, and those that resemble colors. The twenty-five forms, such as blue, should be understood as being established in terms of their nature, shape, benefit and harm, the basis of division, the nature of action, adornment, and six aspects, according to the order of four, ten, eight, one, and one. Among them, "manifestation" refers to the object of any direction that is separate from knowable things that obstruct it. "Space" refers to the place where blue appears above. What is sound? That which is produced from the four great elements, the object apprehended by the ear faculty, whether it is pleasing, unpleasing, or neither, whether it is due to the cause of the apprehended four great elements, or the cause of the non-apprehended four great elements, or both, whether it is understood by worldly people, or taught by accomplished ones, or fully examined, or the expression of noble ones, or non-noble ones.
