consistent with should be regarded as habits. Those are because they arise from the cause of the Dharma, which is the homogeneous cause of attaining transcendence. Its habit should be understood as the cause of the transcendental Dharma itself. Furthermore, self-nature, differentiation, companionship, consistent understanding, growth, interruption, and complete grasping should also be regarded as conditions for causes. Moreover, the so-called self-nature and so on indicate that these six causes are conditions for causes. Among them, self-nature and differentiation should be understood as being established as active causes. The remaining words should be understood as being established in order as co-arising, similarly possessing, equally shared, pervasive, and ripening causes. What is self-nature like? The active cause is the self-nature of the cause. Because it is established as the active cause from the perspective of the self-nature of the cause, it should be understood that all causes are included within the active cause. In order to show the differences of companionship and so on, they are established separately. The differentiation of the active cause, whatever is said about the consciousness and so on that arises from the assembly, should be regarded as an example. Because through this aspect, others with such a nature can also be clearly inferred. What is differentiation like? The arising active cause is like the consciousness arising from the assembly of eyes and so on. Because it produces the unproduced fruit from it. The existing active cause is like the food of sentient beings and those who seek sentient beings. Because it makes the continuity of its power grow without ceasing. The relying active cause is like sentient beings. Because it is an obstacle to falling. The bright active cause is like a lamp of form. Because it makes the obscured clear. The changing active cause is like a fire of wood. Because it makes its continuum transform into another. The separating active cause is like an axe that should be struck. Because it makes the connection into two. Obscuring

The factor of transformation is, for example, the place of manufacture of gold and so on. It is for the purpose of transferring its parts to other places. The factor of trust is, for example, the smoke of fire. It is for the purpose of inferring what is hidden by it. The factors that make one believe are, for example, established vows, reasons, and examples, and so on. It is for the purpose of correctly distinguishing by it. The factor of attainment is, for example, the path of liberation from suffering. It is for the purpose of attaining by it. The factor of terminology is, for example, name, sign, and seeing. It is for the purpose of clearly grasping the sign as the name is, and then attaching the term. The factor of dependence is that which arises from depending on what and pursuing what meaning, for example, depending on hunger and producing food. Because that is the cause of arising desire. The factor of throwing is a distant condition, such as ignorance of aging and death. Because what arises from that cause grows by passing from one state to another, one after another. The factor of manifestation is a near condition. For example, the ignorance of all formations. Because that is the cause that immediately arises. The factor of complete holding is a condition other than that. For example, fields, water, and valleys, etc., that produce crops. It is for the purpose of strengthening what arises from its own seed. The factor of causing to decay is a harmonious condition. For example, relying well on the king in order to please the king. It is for the purpose of attracting the harmony that follows. The factor of separate determination is various conditions. For example, the causes of the six realms by the six kinds of beings respectively. Because the nature is different, different results arise. The factor of simultaneous arising is the collection of conditions. For example, the basis of consciousness is not damaged, the object also appears, and the attention that produces it is also near. In order to accomplish its own result, it does not depend on other causes. The factor of disharmony is creating obstacles, such as hail for crops.
