These places should be grasped with wisdom. How can one become enlightened? What are the things to be enlightened about? Why should one contemplate the things to be enlightened about? In order to abandon them for the sake of universal going, subsequent attainment, entering into conduct, coming, going, and definite liberation. Supernormal knowledge is the realm of the six supernormal knowledges. Because of the differentiation of going, there is the supernormal knowledge of miraculous power, and its realm is the very thing to be enlightened about for the sake of universal going. Because the supernormal knowledge of the ear fully understands the sounds of various kinds of beings, it is subsequent attainment. In order to know the minds of those who are attached to desire, etc., it is entering into conduct. In order to know what has come from past lives, it is coming. In order to know what will become of future births, it is going. In order to know the method of definite liberation from the three realms, it is definite liberation. Everything is to be enlightened about. Everything is the realm of the latter three. It is in order to abandon the attachment to oneself as having power. How is it with form? What are the things with form? Why should one contemplate the things with form? For the sake of the nature of form, the elements that have become the basis, the arising of joy, having direction, pervading the place, the place being easy to indicate, the place becoming a place of enjoyment, the two places of enjoyment being the same, connection, subsequent connection, complete discrimination, harm, understanding, the arrangement of accumulation, looking outward, looking inward, long duration, complete cessation of time, its time, and definite indication, one should also contemplate the things with form. Among these, form is the nature and essence of that dharma, therefore it is with form. It is not because it has other things with form, but because one will speak of the essence of form. That which is called the basis of the elements is also shown to be with form because it has other forms. The form that is universally taken is the form that has the elements, and the forms of the elements also have each other internally. The arising of joy
