The five are as follows: The consciousness of universally taking is produced from the cause of previous formations. The consciousness of entering through the eyes, etc., is produced from the cause of present conditions. As it is said: Dependent on the faculties, objects, and the attention that produces them, consciousnesses arise. This is extensively taught, like that. This is the first reason. Also, the six groups of consciousness are focused on virtue and non-virtue. This is the second reason. Also, for the six groups of consciousness, the aspect of being included by the unspecified maturation is not observed. This is the third reason. Also, the arising of the six groups of consciousness is definite in each location. From whichever location whichever consciousness arises, that consciousness is grasped there, but the rest are not grasped, which is not permissible. It is also not permissible to be grasped, because there is no consciousness. This is the fourth reason. Also, the fault of taking bodies again and again would also occur. For example, eye consciousness sometimes arises and sometimes does not. The others are also the same. This is the fifth reason. Therefore, previous actions, and what is born from the conditions of present actions, being virtuous and non-virtuous, its aspect being unobservable, the location being determined separately, and taking close again and again is also not permissible. Why is it not permissible for the entering of tolerance to occur? If someone says this: If the consciousness of universally taking exists, then two consciousnesses should arise simultaneously. To them, one should say this: You perceive fault in what is faultless, because two consciousnesses arise simultaneously. Why is that? For example, some want to see simultaneously, up to wanting consciousness, but first, any consciousness cannot arise, because there is no difference in the existence of attention, faculties, and objects. If consciousness does not arise simultaneously, why do eye consciousness and

If the mind consciousness that follows this is not clear, it is because when remembering the past experienced object, the realm of activity of the mind consciousness is not clear. However, the mind that now acts on the object is not so unclear. Therefore, it is also possible for simultaneous arising and unclear mind consciousness. Why are these six aggregates of consciousness not seeds of each other? Because after virtue, non-virtue arises, or after non-virtue, virtue arises, or after these two, neutral arises, after an inferior realm, a middling realm arises, after a middling realm, a superior realm arises, similarly, after a superior realm, an inferior realm arises, after defilement, non-defilement arises, after non-defilement, defilement arises, after mundane, supramundane arises, after supramundane, mundane arises. Therefore, they cannot be seeds. Because after the continuum is interrupted, it arises after a long time, so it is also not possible. If consciousness does not arise simultaneously, why would karma not exist? In short, there are four types of karma: the consciousness of vessel, the consciousness of place, the consciousness of "I", and the consciousness of object. These consciousnesses are observed to arise simultaneously moment by moment, and in one moment of consciousness, it is not possible to have so many karmas of different essences. If there is no apprehending consciousness, why would bodily feeling not exist? Because some people, with a mind that is either proper or improper, or subsequently discriminating, or with the mind entering into samadhi, or even if the mind does not enter into samadhi, bodily feelings will arise in any case, in many ways, in various ways, many feelings will arise, and it is also impossible to specify, therefore, the apprehending consciousness exists. If there is no apprehending consciousness, why is it impossible to enter into the samadhi of non-mind? Because for entering into the samadhi of non-perception, the consciousness itself should reasonably depart from the body.
