Not completely discouraged. A Bodhisattva who possesses four qualities constantly benefits Bodhisattvas, closely attending to them, which means fully measuring, entering into the correct teachings. If one associates with them, there is happiness, offerings, gains, respect, and close attendance. Here, it is also fully shown what to rely on and how to accomplish it. What to rely on? It is the breaking of pride. How to closely attend? As shown, to the three types of Bodhisattvas, inferior, middling, and superior, attend to them in order. A Bodhisattva who possesses four qualities correctly shows the giving of Dharma with a mind free from defilement. Being skilled in understanding obstacles, dispelling ignorance and sinking, closely attending to joy, and delighting in the Dharma without protection. Here, it is also fully shown what to rely on and how to correctly show. What to rely on? It is to understand well that gains and respect will become obstacles. How to correctly show? It is to correctly show to those without ignorance, to cause those who are attached to carelessness, and those who shrink from self-deprecation, to correctly uphold, to cause those who correctly praise and correctly enter to correctly rejoice, and to delight in the Dharma by nature. Thus, it should be known that the fourth quality is spoken to clarify the difference in the words of the first quality. What is the determination that is well-separated and fully shown? It is to combine the Dharmas as shown, as appropriate. From one to contemplate, and the previous sentence and practice, and the following sentence and combination, two extremes, three extremes, four extremes, and "it is so" and abandonment. The determination that is well-separated and fully shown is: to combine the Dharmas such as the aggregates as shown, as appropriate, from one to contemplate, etc. Among them, the question of contemplating from one is: with what Dharma, together with the remaining Dharmas, ask one by one and then abandon it, and with that second Dharma, it is also the same.

It is to inquire together with those. Likewise, ask each one of all. For example, whoever has the eye-sphere, does he also have the form-sphere? Whoever has the form-sphere, does he also have the eye-sphere? This is connected with the previous sentence. Whoever has the eye-sphere, does he also have the ear-sphere? This has four possibilities. Likewise, up to also having the mind-sphere, this should be connected appropriately. Then, does he also have the dharma-sphere? This is connected with the previous sentence. Whoever has the form-sphere, does he also have the eye-sphere? Whoever has the eye-sphere, does he also have the form-sphere? This is connected with the following sentence. Whoever has the form-sphere, does he also have the ear-sphere? This is also connected with the following sentence. Likewise, does he also have the dharma-sphere? It should be connected appropriately. Whoever has the ear-sphere, does he also have the eye-sphere? This has four possibilities. Likewise, it should also be connected up to the dharma-sphere. In this way, starting from each one, all the spheres should be connected to each other. The second connection with the following sentence is, if one starts from some dharmas and asks each other, then depending on the previous dharma, one indicates. For example, whatever is knowledge, is that also the knowable? Whatever is knowledge, is that also the knower? This is connected with the previous sentence. Whatever is knowledge, that is also the knowable. There are also knowables that are not known by the mind, that is, those dharmas that are different from it. The connection with the following sentence is, likewise, when asking two by two, whichever depends on the latter and indicates where. For example, whatever is the grasped, is that also the grasper? Whatever is the grasper, is that also the grasped? This is connected with the following sentence. Whatever is the grasper, that is also the grasped. There are also those that are grasped but not the grasper, that is, the five objects such as form, and the dharma-sphere that is similar to this but not included. The second possibility is where two possibilities are shown. There is nothing other than that.
