Unfulfilled monks, I say that I am knowing and seeing, the outflows are exhausted. Thus, many of the sutra texts, the first son abandoned the person. One should strive to cultivate meditation, thus etc. abandoned the second. The example of the wooden bowl abandoned the third. The example of the boat abandoned the fourth. The gate of complete transformation of letters is where the letters, in which other meanings are also well established, are completely transformed into others. For example, someone who does not believe does not deceive. Such are the verses. The gate of wasting and not wasting is where the extreme wasting, and the extreme not wasting, and the means of those two, and the extreme distinctions of those two are shown. For example, in the Sutra of Good Birth, extreme wasting is excessive attachment to external and internal objects. Among them, external objects are the characteristics of home and wife, etc. Internal objects are the characteristics of the five aggregates of clinging. Extreme non-wasting is being separated from excessive attachment to those two. The means of extreme non-wasting is that it does not arise extremely, and even after arising extremely, one is careful to exhaust the outflows. The opposite of this should be seen as the means of not wasting. Among them, alas! Son of good family, well-born, this is adorned by two: from shaving hair and beard to ordination, and from the exhaustion of outflows to extreme knowledge, this shows non-wasting, and its means, and from the opposite nature of this, wasting, and its means will be shown. The extreme distinction of non-wasting is extremely shown by the sound of verses. This monk is an adornment, peaceful and with outflows exhausted. Thus it is said. Thus ordination and the exhaustion of outflows are completely shown. That exhaustion of outflows is also, free from desire and separated, without clinging, has passed into nirvana. Having defeated the hosts of demons, is holding the last body. Thus it is said, this is after being free from desire for the worldly path, the abandonment of the conforming union that conforms to the last part of the transcendental path, and the conforming union that conforms to the higher part is also abandoned, and it is completely shown that the internal object is abandoned.

Therefore, it should also be regarded as being taught at the time when cause and effect are exhausted. Conversely, it should be regarded as teaching the distinction of complete exhaustion. The door of establishing a person is: to show where this is spoken in dependence on how many people. For example, it should be regarded as the view that appears in sutras such as "Born from Water." That is spoken in dependence on distinguishing between two, three, and four people, namely ordinary beings and those who have seen the truth. Ordinary beings should be divided into three to be observed: non-white, slightly white, and very white. Those who have seen the truth are divided into four, namely those who abide in the four fruits. The three are learners. The door of establishing distinctions is: to express the meaning of questions such as the four alternatives. For example, in the "Impermanence Sutra," it says: "Does whoever sees this well see all forms? Does whoever sees all forms see all of this well?" These are the four alternatives. The first alternative is: for the four aggregates, such as feeling, not to mistakenly cling to them as permanent, pure, happy, and self, but to fully know and abandon them, that is, to truly follow and observe. The second alternative is: for form, to mistakenly cling to it as permanent, pure, happy, and self, but to fully know and not abandon it, not to truly follow and observe. The third alternative is: for form, not to mistakenly cling to it as permanent, pure, happy, and self, but to fully know and abandon it, to truly follow and observe. The fourth alternative is: for the four aggregates, such as feeling, to mistakenly cling to them as permanent, pure, happy, and self, but not to fully know and not abandon them, not to truly follow and observe. Just as there are four alternatives for form, so too should all others, such as feeling, be extensively observed. Is it said that all that has been done is, "Other than this, I do not know of any other existence"? Is all that does not know of any other existence other than this all that has been done? Up to here. It is said: There are four alternatives. The first alternative is for as long as life lasts.
