Now, as an antidote to conceptualization, emptiness is not different from form. Form is emptiness itself. Emptiness is form, and so on up to consciousness is taught. Because it is the characteristic of the selflessness of pervasive imputation, if it were not so, it would not exist. As an antidote to conceptualization in itself, it is said that from form to consciousness, these are merely names. Because there is no self-nature of speech apart from speech. In particular, as an antidote to conceptualization, from "unborn by nature" to "purification is also not truly seen," it is said because the characteristics of differences such as birth are prevented. Just as the name is, as an antidote to conceptualizing objects, it is said that one suddenly applies terms following names by examining phenomena separately on unprocessed things, and so on. Just as the object is, as an antidote to conceptualizing names, Bodhisattvas do not truly see all those names. Because they do not truly see, they do not have manifest attachment. It is said that just as the object is, if one does not see in names, there is no manifest attachment. What is non-conceptualization? Non-conceptualization of non-contentment, and non-perverted non-conceptualization, and non-elaborate non-conceptualization, are respectively for ordinary beings, hearers, and Bodhisattvas, in that order. Among them, ordinary beings are those who start with some Dharma nature such as impermanence and lead their minds to the end, and they are sure that "this is so," and they will be satisfied. They are called conceptualizations of grasping at satisfaction, because for them, all conceptualizations called non-conceptualization will be interrupted. Hearers are those who, in order to counteract the perversions of permanence, etc., of the aggregates, truly regard form, etc., as mere phenomena, and thus realize the selfless transcendental wisdom. Therefore, that of theirs is the non-perverted non-

It is called non-conceptualization. Bodhisattvas, realizing that even mere phenomena such as form are to be abandoned, dismantle the characteristics of all phenomena, and realize that suchness pervades all with the supreme, peaceful wisdom that transcends the world. Therefore, they are said to be the non-conceptualization free from elaboration. Non-conceptualization free from elaboration is not because of non-attention, not because of complete transcendence, not because of complete pacification, not because of inherent nature, and not because of manifest engagement with an object. It should be observed that it is not because of these. If it is said that it is because of non-attention, then sleep, intoxication, and so on should also become non-conceptual, because they do not attend to the characteristics of phenomena. If it is said that it is because of complete transcendence, then all of the second dhyana and so on should also become non-conceptual, because they have completely transcended the conceptualizations of thought and analysis. Therefore, the body of conceptualization contradicts the statement, "mind and mental factors of the three realms." If it is said that it is because of complete pacification, then the attainment of cessation of perception and feeling should also become non-conceptual, because the conceptualizations of mind and mental factors are completely pacified by it. Therefore, it would become without consciousness. If it is said that it is because of inherent nature, then form should become non-conceptual, because it is the inherent nature of non-conceptualization. If it is said that it is because of manifest engagement with an object, then that which has conceptualization would become non-conceptual, because the manifest engagement with "this is non-conceptual" is the characteristic of conceptualizing characteristics. Therefore, one should not observe their non-conceptualization in that way. However, one should observe it as being without manifest engagement with an object. How is it observed? When that bodhisattva, relying on the advice that accords with it, conceptualizes that the characteristics of all phenomena are not inherently established,
