I, with the divine ear, the knowledge of others' minds, the knowledge of past lives, death and rebirth, and the exhaustion of outflows, in order, aspire to demonstrate the actions of the body and so forth. With the direct perception of the divine ear, having understood all forms of sound, it should be known that one aspires to the actions of speech. What is the purpose of good names and examples? As soon as one sees them, faith arises in the great being himself. The minds of others become manifest and subdued. What is the purpose of complete purification? To completely control rebirth in existence as one wishes. If one wishes, one can remain longer than a kalpa. One can also abandon the formations of life. One can wield power over the Dharma. One can wield power over samadhi. One can also correctly hold the sacred Dharma. Complete purification of the place is such that, as one wishes, one can take on evil destinies, abide, and completely abandon them, and it should be known that these three include completely mastering rebirth in existence and so forth. Complete purification of the object is to wield power over the Dharma. Complete purification of the mind is to wield power over samadhi. Complete purification of wisdom is to correctly hold the sacred Dharma. What does strength do? It eliminates causelessness, speaking of incompatible causes, not doing, speaking of encountering, and thus shows the path of correct manifestation. Completely and correctly understanding the behavior of sentient beings' minds, the vessels of speech, thoughts, habits, objects, collections, suitability, and certainty, thus showing the good path that is appropriate. It also cuts off all maras. It also answers all questions that are asked. Among the powers, with the power of two, it shows the path of manifest superiority. The rest show the definite good path. These are the deeds of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Among them, the Bhagavat, with the power of knowing what is and is not the case, refutes the assertion that manifest superiority arises from causelessness, or from causes such as nature, Isvara, etc., thus refuting causelessness and incompatible causes. With the power of knowing the actions to be done as one's own, he refutes the statement that even if one has not done it, karma will arise.
