With the mind of intermediate practice and the mind without defilement, truly reveal the Dharma of generosity. These four are initiated for the benefit of oneself and others. In order to perfect Bodhi, it should be known as the antidote to the four opposing factors. The four opposing factors are indulging in the taste of meditative absorption, harmful intent, arrogance, greed for gain, and craving for respect. In another way, the first Dharma shows the antidote to abandoning afflictions. The remaining Dharmas rely on the three causes to abandon the inferior vehicle, with the Bodhicitta arising in closeness to all sentient beings, maturing those who have entered, and causing those who have not entered to enter. In another way, the first is the complete display of the accumulation of wisdom. The three are the complete display of the accumulation of merit, closeness, maturing, and causing entry, each of which can also generate differences in merit. Furthermore, it should be understood by two causes: by thought, it is the heart of loving-kindness; by practice, it is to show the attainment and the scriptural proof. If one possesses four qualities, a Bodhisattva can meditate on emptiness, not conceptually thinking in the inner mind, generating the power to clearly distinguish in faith, being able to realize all dharmas as they are, and being liberated from all obscurations. These fully reveal what to rely on and how to meditate. What to rely on? It is to rely on the Perfection of Wisdom. How to meditate? It is to generate the power of hearing and thinking through the path of ordinary beings, and through the paths of learners and non-learners. If a Bodhisattva possesses four qualities, he has a mind without hatred towards all sentient beings, which is to cultivate loving-kindness, practice without confusion, not conceptually think about characteristics, and endure weariness. Here, it is also fully revealed what to rely on and how to have a mind without hatred. What to rely on? It is to rely on the cultivation of loving-kindness in previous lives. How to have a mind without hatred? It is through wrong practice.
