Because of attachment to the intermediate state and doubt about the good path, it necessarily arises from the wrong path, but not necessarily from the right path. Furthermore, so-called "view of the aggregates as self" is a mistaken understanding, because it clings to things that are merely suffering as the nature of self and what belongs to self. The view of holding precepts and asceticism as supreme is a mistaken understanding, because it believes that it can be purified by this. Doubt is a wrong understanding of the antidote, because it is uncertain about the Three Jewels. Entering the fruit of once-returner refers to the individual who is on the path of abandoning the intermediate of the intermediate of the afflictions of the desire realm before the path of seeing. A once-returner refers to the individual who is on the path of completely abandoning the small of the intermediate of the afflictions. Entering the fruit of non-returner refers to the individual who is on the path of abandoning the great of the small of the afflictions of the desire realm and the intermediate of the small before the fruit of once-returner. A non-returner refers to the individual who is on the path of completely abandoning the smallest of the small of the ninth affliction. Even if all that should be abandoned by cultivating in the desire realm is abandoned, it is said in the sutras that one is a non-returner because of abandoning the five fetters corresponding to the lower part, because these are the cause of transmigration and the lower realm, so they are the main ones. The lower realm refers to hell beings, hungry ghosts, and animals. The lower realm refers to the desire realm. Therefore, the view of the aggregates as self, holding precepts and asceticism as supreme, and doubt do not go beyond the lower realm, so they are its cause. Desire and hatred for desire do not go beyond the lower realm, so they are its cause. Even if all the afflictions of the three realms are abandoned, it is called an Arhat because of abandoning the five fetters corresponding to the upper part, because this is the cause of approaching the upper realm and not abandoning it, so it is the main one. Among them, the desire for form and formlessness is to approach the upper realm from the desire realm, that is, to be born in the form and formless realms.

It is a term called "knowing." Arrogance, pride, and ignorance do not completely abandon the higher realms, because meditators with a strong component of desire, pride, and doubt are completely defiled there. Being born from one class to another is the stream-enterer. One who enters the fruit of once-returner will definitely revolve twice among gods or humans and then be completely liberated from samsara. One interval is the once-returner. One who enters the fruit of non-returner will only revolve once in the realm of gods and then be completely liberated from samsara. One interval is the intermediate, that is, there is an interval of birth, therefore that is one interval. Completely liberating from samsara in the intermediate state means that by the power of afflictions, one goes to the place of birth, that connection of rebirth is exhausted, and with the latent habit, the remainder of the aggregates manifesting after death, the intermediate existence manifests. Because the path previously practiced appears, the latent remainder is abandoned, and there, one is completely liberated from samsara. That is also divided into three types: not surpassing the place of birth, only surpassing, and the state of going far. It should be understood in the manner of the sutra of the path of the noble person. "Without effort, the path appears" means that it is because of the previous extreme habituation, it is a term called "no need to strive." The opposite of that is to be completely liberated from samsara with effort. Moving upwards is of two types: going to Akanistha and going to the peak of existence. Among them, going to Akanistha is because of tasting many flavors, arising and tasting the flavors of smallness of meditation, etc., starting from the Brahma host, without interruption, being born once in all other places, reaching Akanistha, and thus completely liberating from samsara. Going to the peak of existence is because one has not alternately meditated like meditation, but only uses the Pure Abodes, and similarly goes to the peak of existence, and thus completely liberates from samsara. Alternately meditating means meditating on the five states such as the smallness of the fourth dhyana.
