In order to overcome, the wisdom that knows the special qualities of merit should be understood as excellent wisdom. There are five kinds of meditation, from dwelling in the aggregates to dwelling in mastery. Here is a verse: Meditating based on the aggregates, attention and contemplation, means and mastery, all these are spoken of. As it is said: By cause, maturation, aspiration, and individual examination, remember the aggregates. It is said like this. Among them, there are four ways of dwelling in the aggregates: Dwelling in the cause is diligently practicing the perfections by the power of any kind of cause. Dwelling in maturation is by the power of having a complete body. Dwelling in aspiration is by the power of past aspirations. Dwelling in the power of individual examination is diligently practicing the perfections by the power of wisdom. Dwelling in attention, there are four ways of meditating on the perfections: Meditating with faith and attention is meditating with faith in the sutras that possess all the perfections. Meditating with the attention of tasting the flavor is tasting the flavor of those who have attained the perfections by seeing the benefits. Meditating with the attention of rejoicing is rejoicing in the generosity and other virtues of all sentient beings in all realms of the world. Meditating with the attention of delight is being delighted in the future distinctions of the perfections of oneself and sentient beings. Dwelling in contemplation, there are six ways of meditating on the perfections: insatiable contemplation, vast contemplation, joyful contemplation, beneficial contemplation, uncontaminated contemplation, and virtuous contemplation. Among them, the insatiable contemplation of a Bodhisattva's generosity is that a Bodhisattva fills realms as numerous as the sands of the Ganges with the seven precious jewels in a single moment, and gives bodies as numerous as the sands of the Ganges to a single sentient being. Similarly, in each moment, he gives for as many eons as there are sands in the Ganges, and treats each sentient being in the same way.
