It is in order to do this. The object of the miraculous feet is the particular of the deeds accomplished by samadhi, such as miracles. Desire samadhi is to touch the one-pointedness of mind by relying on respectful practice. Respectful practice is to practice with strong desire and great service. Diligence samadhi is to touch the one-pointedness of mind by relying on continuous practice. That which is constantly practiced and never not practiced is called diligence. Mind samadhi is that in other lifetimes in the past, one relied on meditating on samadhi, and because of this, the seeds of the mind were completely increased, so that one's own nature naturally conformed to samadhi, and then one touched the one-pointedness of mind. In order to show the cause of accomplishing the miraculous feet, it should be understood that, as stated in the scriptures, cultivating the right abandonment, generating desire, and so on. Mind abiding and mind holding should be understood as the order of the method spoken of here. Among them, mind samadhi, which is mind abiding, is touching the one-pointedness of mind, which means that the mind itself holds the mind within, and is peaceful, gathers, and obtains. Deliberation samadhi, which is when the mind holds, means that the mind is ignited through the door of vipassana. Cultivation is to familiarize oneself with the eight factors of abandonment, such as desire. These eight factors of abandonment should be understood as four types, that is to say, effort is desire, diligence, and faith. Among them, desire is the basis of diligence. The cause of desire is faith, so that anyone who wants to accomplish something strives to obtain it. If there is no belief in its existence, etc., one will not want to accomplish it. Benefit is extreme gentleness, because it benefits body and mind. Closeness is mindfulness and awareness, not forgetting the object, and entering the one-pointedness of mind, and if one is negligent about this, then...

It is to completely cut off, and the order is like this. The antidote is attention and equanimity. Because of extremely grasping and extremely relaxing the mind, dullness and agitation will arise, and one must completely abandon these, and there are no near afflictions, because it is to follow the characteristics of calm abiding and so on. Also, for the practice of abandoning desire and so on, and the four kinds of agitation, the basis of dullness is the lack of higher vision, so one will fall into dullness due to laziness. The basis of agitation is the lack of the perception of unattractiveness, so one will not truly grasp due to agitation. Dullness is shrinking inward due to drowsiness and sleep. Agitation is scattering outward to objects by following attractive signs. The practice that is in accordance with non-contraction is to contemplate the Dharma based on the characteristics of discernment. The practice that is in accordance with non-agitation is to separately contemplate hair and other things as impure. The practice that is in accordance with both is the perception of light. Moreover, my intention should neither be too contracted nor too grasped, neither contracted inward nor scattered outward, and one should think of later and earlier thoughts, as well as thinking of above and below, and like that, all the entanglements of the differentiated mind are gone, so one should cultivate a mind with luminosity, and my mind should not become like darkness, after making this intention, the Bhagavan spoke in order. The result is as desired, in order to accomplish the qualities of miraculous powers and so on. The objects of the faculties are the four noble truths, because they are held by the means of realizing the truth, so they will transform into that form. The result is that by that power, the path of seeing will arise soon, and at that time, it is based on the mind stream that is in accordance with the decisive part. The objects of the powers and so on are the same as the faculties. But there is a difference in the result, just as it is said, the result of these is disbelief for the unbelieving and so on.

Because the common aspects are suppressed, it is even more evident. Therefore, although these are the same in terms of object and nature, etc., they are other limbs of enlightenment due to the difference in the meaning of not confusing. The object of the limbs of enlightenment is how the truth of the four noble truths is, which is called the synonym for the object of ultimate purity. The nature is the seven dharmas such as mindfulness. Among them, mindfulness is the limb of the place, and mindfulness abiding is for manifesting all virtuous dharmas. Discrimination of dharma is the limb of nature, because it is the characteristic of enlightenment. Diligence is the limb of determination, because it goes as far as it goes. Joy is the limb of benefit, because it satisfies the mind stream. Pliancy, samadhi, and equanimity are the limbs without all afflictions. Among them, pliancy will not be all afflictions, because it destroys the evil realms. Samadhi will not be all afflictions, because it transforms the place. Equanimity is without all afflictions, because it is the nature of a state that is not afflicted, being free from greed and displeasure. Cultivation is the limb of mindfulness, perfect enlightenment, dwelling in a solitary place, cultivating, etc. These words and order are the same, taking the noble truths as the object is the complete teaching of cultivating the limbs of enlightenment, just like this, taking suffering as suffering itself as the object is seeking liberation from it, taking suffering as the object is called dwelling in a solitary place. The characteristic of existence is the arising of suffering, taking the arising of suffering as the object is seeking to be free from it, taking it as the object is dwelling in a place free from desire. Taking the cessation of suffering as the object of the cessation of suffering is wanting to realize it, taking it as the object is dwelling in the place of cessation. The path to the cessation of suffering is called complete abandonment because it abandons suffering. Therefore, taking it as the object in that way is cultivation.
