Even for others, there is no self; if there is no body, I will not be universally regarded as existing, because this would lead to the fault of having no body. If someone fully understands the self in this way, then a self without form, etc., is also unreasonable. If there are no bonds of body, etc., it will naturally be liberated, and therefore it would commit the fault of attaining liberation without effort. The five views that form is self, feeling, cognition, aggregates, and consciousness are self are the views of self. From "I possess form" to "I possess consciousness," the remaining fifteen views are the views of what belongs to self. What becomes mine through relationship is like this: it is related to it, therefore it possesses it. From "form is mine" to "consciousness is mine," this is because it becomes mine through control. Whatever is given or covered, and whatever is controlled, is called mine. From "I am in form" to "I am in consciousness," this does not lead to difference, therefore it becomes mine. This self follows and completely enters these things and is placed, because it is considered that a limb possessor follows the limb. The unexamined basis refers to the fact that if the characteristics of form, etc., are fully examined, there is no opportunity to view it as self. For example, it is like someone mistaking a rope for a snake without examining it. If it is examined to be a rope, it will not be mistaken for a snake. Anger, etc., should be understood as being nominally existent. Because anger, etc., are not separate from it. "After that" means after being angry. "Intolerance" means not regarding harm as harm and not taking action. This is the nature of things. If accompanied by transgression, one will feel regret, therefore it is called unstable. Harsh, rude, and violent words refer to saying "expressionless" in a way that blames others. "Not reducing supplies" means that even unnecessary supplies are considered to be made from cows, etc., due to stinginess. Rightly guarding certainty,

The so-called "action" should be understood as transferring from one place to another. The so-called "one who obstructs the attainment of correct teachings" means that if one does not show the state of oneself as it is, then it is not appropriate to impart teachings. Grasping the sign of longevity and discriminating about it, that is, first making the discrimination of immortality, and then generating attachment to life. The so-called "any contaminated perfection" should be understood as lineage, power, appearance, obedience, wisdom, enjoyment, and wealth, etc. The so-called "joy and happiness" is a distinction of defiled joy. The so-called "following the sign of suffering" is to follow desire. Recalling past laughter, playfulness, etc., one should know that the mind has not attained tranquility. The so-called "one who acts as the cause of laziness" means that if one does not have faith, then one has no desire for practice. The so-called "unconsciously engaging in the actions of body, speech, and mind" should be understood as not having carefully observed walking and returning, etc. In this way, because one does not know what to do and what not to do, one will fall. The so-called "self-nature distraction" refers to the five aggregates of consciousness, because they cannot inherently maintain peace within. The so-called "external distraction" should be understood as the mind outwardly running towards the five objects of desire when engaging in virtuous activities such as listening to teachings. The so-called "internal distraction" refers to sinking, excitement, and experiencing, which cause one to fall away from samadhi when entering into it. The so-called "sign distraction" is done in order to make others believe that oneself possesses qualities. One should know that after entering into virtue, one will gradually fall away from it. The so-called "bad rebirth distraction" refers to, due to the influence of bad rebirths such as self-grasping, clinging to the feelings of pleasure, etc., that arise, thinking "I," "mine," or "is mine," therefore one should know that the aspect of virtue is completely impure. Grasping refers to grasping in that way from the beginning. Mixing refers to the mind continuing with it after that.
