Because of particularly believing in asceticism and discipline. Showing that suffering, etc., transformed by the bonds of desire, etc., are bonds, is because desire, etc., will subtly increase into feelings such as happiness, etc. Being bound by external bonds, one cannot obtain two things, namely, one cannot walk, and even if one abides, one cannot do as one wishes, and one cannot think, act, and do as one pleases. The internal bonds of desire, etc., should also be understood to be the same as this. For the desire that has not abandoned seeking desire, the latent tendencies of desire and anger will subtly increase, and through them, these two will increase. The so-called wrongly thinking of liberation and the means of liberation refers to the order in which the three views and two attachments are as previously described in all combinations. Whatever aggregates of formations arising from the mind other than afflictions such as desire are of an afflicted nature, and should be understood as anger, etc. In order to obstruct the virtuous aspects of yogis, they repeatedly and frequently cling to the mind, so they are completely clinging. The virtuous aspect refers to the practice of the reasons for calm abiding, insight, and equanimity, as is appropriate for the time. Their basis is the discipline that includes purity such as celibacy. Among them, during calm abiding, dullness and sleep will interrupt, because they will contract inward. During insight, excitement and regret will interrupt, because they will scatter outward. During equanimity, jealousy and stinginess will interrupt, because being associated with them, one cannot tolerate the perfection of others and oneself, and through clinging, the mind will repeatedly waver. During pure discipline, shamelessness and lack of embarrassment will interrupt, because being associated with these two, one will not hesitate in all places of downfall. It should be understood that in order to accord with and not accord with all afflictions and purifications, rivers and combinations should be arranged in order.

The so-called "principle of dependence and relatedness of places" means that the river of views is a place, and the river of ignorance is a place, because when one is ignorant, one will have wrong views about liberation and its methods. The heretics fight among themselves because of their attachment to views, precepts, and asceticism, because they have many different views on this. However, the attachment to claiming "I" does not lead to internal strife, because they all agree that there is an "I". They will argue with Buddhists because Buddhists advocate non-self. Greed and the like are called knots of the body, and it should be understood that these do not refer to the knots of the physical body, but rather to the knots formed by severing the obstacles between the self-nature body of the meditative mind. Because of relying on their respective views, clinging to "only this is true, and others are meaningless", and universally discriminating against the knowable, thereby generating wrong views about the knowable in an unreasonable way, leading to mental distraction. From where does the distraction arise? From truly knowing the correct state of the meditative mind, such as seeing and so on. Because it obscures the good aspects, making them unable to be understood, these are obstacles, which are obstacles to entering into good deeds. Among them, the desire for desire is an obstacle to renunciation, because by wanting to approach the object, one becomes displeased with renunciation. Hatred arises when being admonished, because when those whose actions are the same as Brahma are admonished to correctly practice the training, they will be unable to learn correctly due to hatred. Dullness and sleep, as well as excitement and regret, like the previous tranquility and insight, will make the mind depressed and distracted. Doubt arises when abandoning, because without certainty, one cannot abandon. It should be understood that because the antidote is difficult to remove with a plow, it needs to be separately established, because through the habituation in other lives, the behavior has become different. The precepts of breaking the precepts are impure, and are the cause of believing in impurity, therefore they are defilements. Causing harm in the form of repeated birth and death in samsara.
