Eh! Why does craving pervade all things? Because it pervades all objects, both obtained and not obtained, and all things of the objects. Among them, obtaining a body is craving, and not obtaining is rebirth. The objects that have been obtained are those with joyful desire; the objects that have not been obtained should be known as manifesting joy towards this and that. Pervading all states is because it corresponds to the three states, such as the suffering of formations. Among them, the state of suffering itself, for those who have obtained it, there is the possibility of separation; for those who have not obtained it, there is the possibility of not meeting. The state of suffering of change itself is the craving for existence and meeting that does not separate with the difference between obtaining and not obtaining. The state of suffering of formations itself is the craving of ignorance, because it is thoroughly distinguished by the evil places of affliction, and thoroughly distinguished by the feeling that is neither suffering nor happiness. In particular, the Alaya consciousness is the state of suffering of formations itself, and it should be known that existence arises from the gateway of ignorance towards the self. Pervading all times is because the three times follow it. For the past time, it follows with the aspect of looking back; for the future time, it follows with the aspect of manifesting joy; for the present time, it follows with special attachment. Pervading all realms is because the craving of the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm pervades the three realms. Pervading all feelings is because it seeks pure conduct with desire, craving, and perversion. With the seeking of desire, it accomplishes suffering in that very place when it has not completely liberated from the desire realm. Similarly, with the seeking of existence, it accomplishes suffering in the form and formless realms. With the seeking of pure conduct through perversion, it revolves there without completely liberating from samsara. Pervading all forms is because the craving of arising and ceasing has the form of permanence and annihilation. The distinctions of the five views are: the view of the aggregates, the view of extremes, the wrong view, the view of holding views as supreme, and

Holding morality and asceticism as supreme. The characteristic of non-pacification should be understood as the general characteristic of all afflictions. It has six aspects: non-pacification due to distraction, non-pacification due to perversion, non-pacification due to excitement, non-pacification due to torpor, non-pacification due to carelessness, and non-pacification due to shamelessness and lack of embarrassment. It is called not having abandoned the latent tendencies of afflictions because the causes of bad rebirths that are in accordance with them have not been completely destroyed. It is called the manifestation of the dharma of the place of afflictions, which refers to attachment and so on. Among them, improper attention abiding closely means grasping the attractive signs of the object, etc., which is in accordance with the arising of desire and so on. Although ignorance, views, and doubt also focus on the higher grounds, it should be understood that they do not focus on them manifestly at that time, as they do on their own ground, because they enter through the mode of conceptualization. Therefore, it should be understood that it is established as focusing on it. Among them, ignorance focusing on the higher ground means being in accordance with and corresponding to views. Views, except for the view of the aggregates, do not see the clinging to the aggregates of other grounds as "I." It is said that the afflictions of the higher ground do not focus on the lower ground because they are free from attachment to it. Focusing on cessation and the path does not mean focusing on those two, because the supramundane wisdom and its subsequent attainment should be understood individually by each. It is said that its object is completely realized by it, and it should be said that its object is completely conceptualized by it, because from the phrase "its object is completely realized by it," conceptualization does not exist elsewhere. It is said that desire is not in accordance with and corresponding to anger because it is impossible for two extremely incompatible things to arise simultaneously. It is also not in accordance with and corresponding to doubt, because if one is in doubt, the mind does not abide, so it is impossible for attachment to arise. The remainder, "with it," refers to pride and so on, and

Because of the absence of conformity, it should be understood as not corresponding. Anger is also not corresponding with pride and views, which means that whoever becomes angry with anything will not be satisfied with it. There, too, it is not possible to contemplate. Similarly, it should be applied to others as well. Anger and so on are not mutually corresponding, which means that they are not corresponding with non-conformity, just as those belonging to the category of desire are not corresponding with those belonging to the category of hatred. Those without non-conformity should be understood as corresponding like afflictions. Shamelessness and lack of embarrassment are corresponding with all non-virtues, which means that they arise universally without regard for oneself and others. Similarly, dullness and so on should also be associated with all afflictions, because without unsuitability and so on, afflictions are impossible to exist. By showing what is connected with what in what way, it should be understood that the connection is shown. What is the connection? The connection of following desire is the nature of desire in the three realms, which acts as a connection. In what way does it connect? Corresponding to this, not being disgusted with the three realms, because one always practices non-virtue and does not practice virtue. What does it connect? Suffering manifests in the future. Similarly, the connection of anger should also be applied to this. Corresponding to the connection with ignorance, one is particularly attached to the laws of suffering and the laws of arising, because one does not fully understand the contaminated formations that are the result and the cause, and their faults. Corresponding to the connection with views, one seeks liberation through wrong paths, thinking, "I will be liberated. I am liberated! After liberation, I will also be permanent," or thinking that it is annihilation, thinking, "Buddhists have no liberation." Corresponding to the connection with attachment, one contemplates the means of attaining liberation through wrong paths, abandoning the eightfold noble path, and the view of the aggregation of decay, etc., and before that,
