It should be done thus. Attachment to the body is innate, does not operate on objects, and is neutral. This attachment that is innate with the body should be understood as the object not being completely severed, because by its power, ordinary beings immediately connect to the intermediate state. Those noble ones who have not separated from desire, as long as they have not become unconscious at the time of death, that craving will always arise. These are fully realized and destroyed by the antidote. Those noble ones who are separated from desire, even if they have not completely abandoned it, because the power of the antidote is great, it will not always arise. However, by the power of habituation, they will connect. The moment of connection in the intermediate state is always neutral, because it is the result of maturation. After that, good, non-virtuous, and neutral are combined according to their respective affinities, except for the mind of transference at death. The mind of transference at death in the intermediate state is always afflicted, like the state of transference at death. The connection of birth should be understood as always neutral. The mind of death and so on of the births of Bodhisattvas by the power of aspiration should all be understood as purely virtuous. This concludes the chapter on the immediately preceding condition. What is called "the object of complete severance of the object" is the object of the five aggregates of consciousness, because the objects of the five aggregates of consciousness are determined separately. What is called "the object of incomplete severance of the object" is the object of the mind consciousness, because all dharmas are the object of the mind consciousness. What is called "the object of non-discrimination of the object" is the object of the mind consciousness of those who are proficient in the path of names, because they cannot discriminate between names and letters. What is called "the object of discrimination of the object" should be understood as the opposite of this. What is called "the object of the object with entities" refers to things other than views, pride, and the dharmas that are associated with them.

These are the objects of observation. The object of observation of the realm of non-things refers to the objects of observation other than those, because it is my basis. The object of observation of reality refers to observing the absence of outflows, as well as the unequal realms, and the earth's pervasive travelers, and the objects of observation other than those without a foundation in the future. The object of observation of pervasive calculation refers to the objects of observation other than those, because it only observes its own pervasive calculation. The object of observation of inversion refers to the objects of observation of those who arise in aspects such as permanence. The object of observation of non-inversion refers to the objects of observation of those who arise in aspects such as impermanence. The object of observation with obstacles refers to the objects of observation of those who have not abandoned the obscurations of knowledge. The object of observation without obstacles refers to the objects of observation of those who abandon obscurations. The determination of the cause of the object of observation is that the object of observation should be known to be separately established through characteristics, distinctions, establishment, complete knowledge, and abandonment. What are the characteristics? The cause of the arising of mind and mental factors that appear on any object, and after they arise, they also manifest attachment to that object, and apply terms, and each can know for themselves, this is the characteristic of the object of observation. What are the distinctions? The non-existent object of observation is like this, the object of observation of those whose minds and mental factors are inverted, as well as the past, the future, dreams, images, illusions, and so on. The existent object of observation is the object of observation other than those. The object of observation without an object of observation is form, as well as non-corresponding to the mind, and the unconditioned. The object of observation with an object of observation is like this, mind and mental factors. The object of observation of reality is like this, virtue. The object of observation of falsehood is like this, afflictive. The object of observation that is neither reality nor falsehood is like this, uncovered and unspecified. The object of observation of appropriateness is like this, mind and mental arising.
