Because everything does not arise from everything. The meaning of "various causes and effects" means that one and many forms of effects arise from many and one forms of causes. The meaning of "cause and effect being separately determined" means that other effects do not arise from other causes. Moreover, through these meanings, dependent origination should be deeply understood. The depth of cause means that as an antidote to dissimilar continuums and those who speak of no cause, it is deep in two ways. The depth of characteristic is the selflessness itself, in one meaning. The depth of arising means that the effect arises from various conditions, but it is not done by it, in two meanings. The depth of abiding means that although there is no abiding, it appears to abide, in two meanings. The depth of arising means that it is difficult to fully understand the arising of the effect from the cause, and it is deep in four meanings. Although there is no agent, there is action and agent, and the enjoyment of its fruit. Here, it should be understood that actions and fruits are not wasted. Dharma is not made by itself, because the maker is unborn and non-existent. It is not made by others, because the various conditions are not the makers. It is not made by both, because the cause is not made by both. It is not made by oneself, nor by others, nor does it arise from no cause, because the various conditions are able to produce the effect. In another way, it is not made by itself, because it depends on conditions. It is not made by others, because even if there are conditions, if there is no seed, it will not arise. It is not made by both, because those two are without movement. It is also not produced from no cause, because seeds and various conditions have the ability. Furthermore, oneself arises from the seed, not from another. Because it depends on it, it is not made by oneself. Because there is no movement, it is not made by both. It is by ability, so it is not produced from no cause. The so-called "not from self, not from other" is to make dependent origination deep by abandoning the two extremes, then, where the four extremes are abandoned, what need is there to say? Therefore, it should be understood that this is extremely profound. Kind

The so-called "differentiation of arising" refers to the arising of eye consciousness based on the eye and form, and so on. The so-called "differentiation of death and birth" refers to the world of sentient beings, where actions arise from ignorance, and so on. The so-called "differentiation of the arising of external crops" refers to the sprouting of seedlings based on seeds, and the growth of tree trunks based on seedlings. Similarly, buds and petals, as well as flowers and fruits, should be understood in conjunction. The so-called "differentiation of destruction and formation" refers to the arising of the great earth and so on, based on the common karma of all sentient beings. The so-called "differentiation based on food" refers to sentient beings dwelling in the three realms based on the four types of food. The so-called "differentiation of distinguishing between desirable and undesirable realms of existence" refers to going to happy and unhappy realms based on good and bad conduct. The so-called "differentiation of purification" refers to the arising of what is in accordance with the aspect of liberation, from what is in accordance with the aspect of definite determination, up to the attainment of Arhatship through the stages of the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, as well as relying on the sound of others, inwardly applying proper attention, right view, and the cessation of all individuals. The so-called "differentiation by power and strength" refers to the arising of special qualities such as supernormal powers based on attainment. Thus, through these differentiations, one should widely understand that actions arise dependently. The so-called "conforming to the way of complete affliction and not conforming to the way" refers to the order of arising, where actions arise from ignorance, and so on, which shows conformity to the way. Old age and death, the arising of old age and death, the cessation of old age and death, and the path leading to the cessation of old age and death, refer to the establishment of truth, and it should be known that it shows non-conformity to the way. Similarly, the cessation of ignorance leads to the cessation of actions, and so on, which shows conformity to the way of purification. If there is nothing,
