Thus, the so-called expert in characteristics, the characteristic is: By this it is indicated that in dependence on others, it is the completely imputed and the perfectly established. Thus, impure sentient beings indicate the nature of what is imputed, while pure ones indicate the nature of selflessness. The nature of dependence on others is what is to be indicated itself, so that characteristic should be combined with it. In this, there are four types of conventional truth for all, and four types of ultimate truth. Among them, in the conventional truth of the world, one neither adds nor slanders what is imputed. In the conventional truth of reasoning, one neither adds nor slanders the nature of mind and mental factors dependent on others. In the conventional truth of realization, one neither adds by clinging to the way the truth is established, nor slanders by not conforming to the realization. In the conventional truth of the ultimate, one neither adds nor slanders the perfectly established as it is said. Likewise, in the ultimate truth of the world, the ultimate truth of reasoning, the ultimate truth of realization, and the ultimate truth of the ultimate, one should combine the abandonment of adding and slandering in the same way. Others, clinging to the aggregates and other dependent arising phenomena as variations of happiness, suffering, and ignorance, etc., is therefore adding. It is said that because one realizes that all phenomena have no self-nature, it is slander. However, it is not the case when combined with the three natures of the imputed, etc. As for what is to be realized, etc., the first expert is an expert in the benefits of dependent arising; is the second not an expert in abandoning the two extremes? Expertise is knowledge, so is that realization? It is not so. Expertise refers to the wisdom with outflows arising from hearing, thinking, and meditation, which are practiced with faith and desire, while realization is wisdom without outflows. That, from the obscurations, etc., in the stage of heat, it overcomes the opposing factors of generosity and other perfections.
