Thus. In order to prevent the eye consciousness from grasping the habitual tendencies of desire and so forth, becoming an obstacle to the ear consciousness and so forth, it is said, "It is not for other consciousnesses either," and so on. Some say that because the locations of the eye consciousnesses and so forth are different, from the perspective of others, there is no simultaneous arising and ceasing. Those who enter into the same basis arise simultaneously, like the mind and mental factors. Therefore, the eye consciousness is not an obstacle to the ear consciousness and so forth, because it is separate from simultaneous arising and ceasing, like the past, the distant present and future, and the consciousnesses of different times belonging to other continuums. Others say that because there is no simultaneous arising and ceasing with it, this is the meaning of the word "and." Therefore, the eye consciousness is not an obstacle to the ear consciousness and so forth, because the locations are different, like the consciousnesses of other continuums. Because there is no simultaneous arising and ceasing, it should be said that this is only from the perspective of others, harming by subsequent inference. In order to prevent the fourth kind of discrimination, it is said, "It is not for one's own objects either," and so on. In this regard, the eye consciousness is the self-category of the later eye consciousness, so it is one's own object, while desire and so forth are later. These are not obstacles, because they are separate from simultaneous arising and ceasing, as before. If it is the cause of the same substance, like the alaya-consciousness, will it not follow its own ability? No, even if there is ability, the manifestation of the result depends on complete nourishment. If it is not like that, then desire and so forth will always arise or only arise simultaneously. Complete nourishment also depends on simultaneous arising and ceasing, for example, grasping the habitual tendencies of the fragrance of sesame and other flowers, arising simultaneously with the flowers.

It is like I have stopped. Therefore, the so-called "for eye consciousness" is the conclusion of the cessation of the first conceptualization. The so-called "it is not permissible to control that consciousness with consciousness" is the negation of the fourth conceptualization. Not negating what is to be negated is because it is not the main thing, so no conclusion was made. Likewise, it also says for the remaining entering consciousnesses, because the examination is the same, it is the same comparison. When proceeding to negate the second affliction of pervasive affliction, it says "no matter where one dies from the higher realm of non-perception," and so on. The reason for saying the word "higher" is because it is synonymous with the word "non-perception," so it should also be known that this is a summary of words without difference and function. The so-called "those who are born here" shows that it is the desire realm. The so-called "that which is born as an affliction at the very beginning" is to say that, according to the Vaibhashika's (Sarvastivada's) view, the intermediate state's linking mind is afflicted before being taken away by ghosts, so that is the first affliction. According to the Sautrantika's view, the last mind of the intermediate state is associated with any of desire and so on before being taken away by ghosts, so that is the first affliction. Because there is no seed, it is also not permissible to be born, because the seed of the affliction of enjoying desire has stopped together with its basis. That seed of affliction is also not in the continuum of the form aggregate, because others do not accept form as a gate, and also because the Yogacara does not accept form as established. For those who are born here from other places, also because there is no seed of the reason as previously stated, that first-born afflicted mind is not allowed, but because the very cessation of the mind's continuum has no gap, it is established that one dies only from the non-perceiver. When proceeding to negate the third pervasive affliction, it says "if the antidote consciousness of affliction arises," and so on. The so-called antidote consciousness of affliction is associated with the patience of knowing the Dharma of suffering. If it ceases
