reason. Or, any wisdom that corresponds to a mind that is not equally abiding, except for the consciousness of the colored roots, is a conceptualization of direct perception, which also exists in the afflicted mind, because it corresponds to the view of self. A conceptualization of direct perception, any mind with conceptualization, can correspond to samadhi, because its function appears. Wisdom must also be admitted, because it corresponds to the view of self. Among the ten root afflictions, it does not correspond to other views, because it does not correspond to other wisdom. It is also not corresponding in terms of categories, because the three views that are distinguished from it do not correspond, because the mind is to be abandoned by meditation. It also does not correspond to the clinging to extremes that is to be abandoned by meditation, because the clinging to self is the forerunner. Because the afflicted mind is of one nature, it cannot be taken as self and held as permanent. Among the two views of self, there cannot be the aspect of "mine," because the view of self is the forerunner. Hatred is the aspect of displeasure, while the mind enters into the aspect of pleasure. Even if it is the aspect of pleasure, it is not a feeling or thought, because it is said that "whatever arises, that is other," and only touch and so on are established in accordance with the occasion. However, if there are other feelings, then there will be a difference. It is also not permissible, because the mind does not correspond to happiness, but arises from imputation. Although the mind has the conceptualization of direct perception, it does not completely distinguish with the aspect of delusion. It is also not happiness, because there would be the fault of being constant. Then, if it is equanimity, how can it be the aspect of pleasure? Because it corresponds to attachment to self. Doubt also divides things into two.

If it is considered wisdom merely because it is the object of mind, then it does not possess wisdom either, because mind is of the same kind. If, because it is of the same kind, it is temporarily impossible to possess ignorance and the like equally, then how do desire and the like understand each other? Here, it is not considered like the scriptures of the sectarian schools, but rather it is said that for the various forms of entering consciousness, it is acknowledged that those that do not contradict desire and the like possess each other equally. These root afflictions, without ignorance, cannot be possessed equally with other afflictions, because ignorance is also a root affliction, so it is similar to non-root afflictions. Among the near afflictions, anger, malice, resentment, jealousy, and miserliness, because they enter in the form of displeasure and go against the grain, they cannot be possessed equally. Pride, illusion, flattery, deceit, and stinginess, although they belong to the category of desire and ignorance, also go against the grain. Shamelessness and lack of embarrassment are entirely unwholesome. Non-discernment is because it goes against the grain. Agitation is because it clings to "I" and is the agitation of the bad situation of pride that thinks "I," so it is possessed equally. Negligence is because it belongs to the category of desire and ignorance. Excitement is because it belongs to the category of desire. Disbelief, laziness, and drowsiness belong to the category of ignorance. Or, they are inherently not equally possessed, because desire and the like first enter in a clear form, and then gradually decrease, so they are called near afflictions. For mind, such a situation is impossible, because it enters in the same essence. It is also not forgetfulness, because it takes mixed objects as its object. It is also not sleep, because it contradicts the form and formless realms. It is also not regret, because it is in the form of displeasure. Investigation and analysis are also not, because they are in the form of searching and distinguishing. This mind is...
