If asked: It is not so. Because self-nature has no difference. In either case, what is the difference in stopping mind and mental factors? This is in accordance with the Sautrāntika school and the determination, because it is close to it. If they do not admit that non-corresponding things exist as real, then how can equipoise become a different entity? It will become a fault of not having a definition. The so-called "fault of not having a definition," the definition is the definition, because of clinging to self, therefore it is mind. If this defiled mind does not exist, then where will it exist? The six consciousnesses think that they are clinging to self, so it is mind, it is not reasonable to say so, because it has ceased. The continuum of the unconscious birth will become the fault of not having self-clinging. The so-called "unconscious" refers to the cessation of mind and mental factors among the gods of the unconscious realm. Being born there is connecting and combining. Its continuum is the continuous arising from then on. If he does not admit the defiled mind, then it will become without self-clinging, because the continuum of birth with all the afflictions has not been seen as without self-clinging. For this very reason, that is what the noble ones said is reasonable. The basis of the consciousness of mind that manifests at the moment of birth, due to the attraction of self-clinging, is itself with self-clinging. Because self-clinging has not been abandoned, it is not right to say that it is like having an expression, etc., because ceasing with self-clinging, and expression, etc., cannot be established as things other than mind. The habit of self-clinging should not exist in the continuum of the body, because the form aggregate does not have it. Therefore, after a moment, the continuum of birth of ordinary beings without self-clinging, as said, is reasonable. For those whose minds that arise together with it are the place of self-clinging, there is no fault. Having self-clinging is not reasonable in any way. The so-called "not reasonable in any way" is a synonym for saying that it is not possible in any way. The occasion of virtue, such as giving, etc., is with self-clinging, because the mind thinks "I am giving," so it clings to self. Having self-clinging

It does not arise without ignorance. Ignorance also arises from the mind, so it does not arise without a place. For the afflicted, there is no other place than the mind. A virtuous mind cannot be a place for ignorance. If there is no afflicted mind, then what is called non-duality is unmixed with ignorance and is the same as the five. What is called the three contradictions are the distinctions of equipoise, the definitive word, and the three births without ego-grasping. The previously shown unmixed ignorance is explained. What is called "That which enters into the true meaning, always becomes an obstacle to the mind," means that it obstructs the seeing of the true meaning, because if it exists, it will not arise. What is called "That which always arises at all times," is the meaning of constantly continuing in the states of virtue, non-virtue, and indeterminacy. What is called not seeing the third body of the mind except for the Alaya-consciousness, is like how the body of the word "mind" is the consciousness that has just ceased, and the body of the word "consciousness" is the six consciousnesses. Likewise, the other body of the word "mind" is not seen in that way. It is not that this word has no body, nor does it belong to the categories, because the objects to be expressed by the two words "mind" and "consciousness" are different. Here, the body of the word that is accepted is what is to be expressed. Therefore, Alaya-consciousness is what is to be expressed by the word "mind." How is it? It is because the seeds of the Dharma, which are collected by the entering consciousness, are accumulated and filled with various distinct differences in ability. It is the meaning of making it a door and relying on it, which shows that the word "mind" is the cause of entering into it. What is called collecting subtle knowable objects means that having accepted the holding of subtle knowable objects, it is not explained to the Hearers, because they are tamed by collecting coarse knowable objects. Subtle knowable objects do not belong to knowledge. The Hearers, etc., say that all knowable objects do not belong to knowledge, meaning that there is no ability, no function, and no characteristic of belonging.
