Through the merits of samadhi, unobstructed manifest knowledge arises in immeasurable realms of the world. Therein, transformations such as shaking occur. By the power of samadhi, immeasurable realms of the world are shaken, and similarly, they can be made to blaze and pervade. It also reveals other boundless realms that cannot be seen, or Buddhas, etc. It can also transform earth, etc., into other elements such as water. In an instant, one can go to many realms and return. Even if many realms are gathered into a single atom, it does not make it larger. One atom can expand into immeasurable realms, filling them. All forms of bodies can enter one's own body. In order to tame beings, whatever form they may have, one can go to them in that very form. To make visible is to manifest. To make invisible is to not manifest. To have power is to transform a demon into a Buddha. Completely destroying the magical powers of others is to overpower them with one's own power. One can give fearlessness to the fearful. One can give mindfulness to the forgetful. One can emit rays of light like messengers that entice Bodhisattvas. These great magical powers, which are not possessed by Shravakas, etc., can be manifestly created. What is meant by a Bodhisattva who practices difficult austerities refers to those ten types of difficult austerities. To vow to practice difficult austerities is to vow to plant the aspiration for great Bodhi. What is difficult is to vow to work for the benefit of others without regard for one's own happiness. The difficult austerity of non-retrogression is that which is not turned back by the suffering of samsara, cold, wind, and so on. Not turning back means not retreating from the difficult task of accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings who are engaged in wrong practices. It is difficult to do things for those who commit evil deeds against their mothers, etc., and who, out of affection, unnecessarily open their eyes and wrap their legs around you. Tending towards the present

Ka-pa is difficult to do for the sake of sentient beings who are harmful. It is difficult to be born in the world and yet not be tainted by the eight worldly dharmas (gain, loss, destruction, fame, praise, ridicule, suffering, and happiness). It is difficult to have faith and belief in the subtle and blessed meaning of the Mahayana without realization. Realization is direct perception, which has the same meaning as truly understanding. It is difficult to do from the perspective of negating the self-nature of both person and dharma, which are all conceptual constructs. Understanding means comprehending and speaking. The difficulty lies in abandoning the meaning of what has been heard and following the realization of what has not been heard. It is difficult not to completely abandon samsara and not be defiled by its faults, because the two are inseparable. Difficult to combine refers to the special quality of the Tathagatas who have completely liberated themselves from all obscurations of afflictions and knowledge and have entered into cessation, in benefiting sentient beings. If it is said that one does not give even a little charity, it is because one realizes the equality of self and others, and having made all sentient beings one's own, one gives charity, which is the charity of a Bodhisattva, intending to give everything to everyone. Or because the object of giving, the giver, and the receiver are unobtainable, therefore the three wheels are completely pure. If it is said that one does not desire all charity, this is synonymous with "not desiring obstruction," that is, not desiring to give to relatives, to give to oneself, to be about to give to oneself, and to think that one is giving because one's ancestors have already given. Rather, one desires to aim for Nirvana and not abide in things. If it is said that one does not go with faith in the Tathagatas, this means that one understands the nature of the Dharma that should be understood individually, and gives through one's own realization. If it is said that one does not enter into giving oneself, it is because one enters into giving naturally, so one does not need to enter oneself. Others cause them to enter, because they want them to truly accept it. If it is said that sometimes one does not give anything at all, this means that one always gives everything.
