Nga. It has the same meaning as purity and auspiciousness. If someone dedicates offerings such as generosity entirely for the sake of making politics and enjoyment complete, then their intention is to pursue suffering, and therefore it is with fault. If someone dedicates entirely for the sake of all sentient beings attaining Buddhahood, then their intention is without fault, and therefore it is virtuous. The meaning of contemplating and meditating on savoring the taste that is completely contained by these six thoughts is merely a manner of expression. The explanation of rejoicing and delighting in contemplation has already been thoroughly explained in the previous explanation. "Will be destroyed" means "to make without fruit," which is a synonym, because it is the antidote to bad destinies. Each one is divided into three, thereby showing the detailed classification. The Dharma giving is truly as it is, the sutras, etc., do not show afflictions. Material giving is completely giving away the necessities of life. Fearless giving is for the sake of preventing killing, etc., because fearless giving is used as hospitality. The giving of Dharma is for relying on the root of virtue. Material giving is for relying on the body. Fearless giving is for relying on the mind. The discipline of vows is truly guarding against non-virtue, therefore, it guards against sinful actions of body and speech, so it is guarding. It itself is discipline, the basis of the two lower disciplines. The one who has the nature of guarding offers to the Buddha, etc., the discipline of accumulating virtuous Dharma is the discipline of obtaining all the Buddha's qualities such as strength. The discipline of benefiting sentient beings is for the sake of completely maturing sentient beings, doing Dharma-conforming help, and faultlessly and truly establishing, etc. For those who cause harm, the patience of not caring is the cause of not turning back from completely maturing sentient beings. The second is the cause of not turning back from Buddhahood itself, because it is not obstructed by suffering such as cold, heat, hunger, and thirst. The third is the previous patience.

The basis of the two is, to generate tolerance for the profound and vast Dharma. Armor-like diligence is to initially strive, thinking, "I shall do this and that." This is indicated by the sutra passage, "Abiding with power." Application diligence is diligence at the time of application, just as thought. This is indicated by the sutra passage, "Possessing diligence." The diligence of not being timid, not being distracted, and not being content is to not completely abandon the conduct that is in accordance with one's thoughts until one abides at the essence of Bodhi. Not allowing joy to diminish due to one's own weariness is not being timid. Not being obstructed by the harms of others is not being distracted. Not abandoning and completely not giving up until Bodhi is not being content. The scriptural authority, "Joy in virtuous Dharmas, not being slow, not abandoning diligence," explains, in order, not being timid, and so forth. Abiding concentration is for the sake of abiding happily in the Dharma that is seen, because it is pure by abandoning pride, views, desire, and so forth. The second is for the sake of manifestly accomplishing qualities such as clairvoyance. The third is for the sake of accomplishing the task of benefiting sentient beings, because practicing concentration pacifies fears such as famine and disease. To apply in order to not conceptualize is to apply without conceptualizing, because it is its retinue. Non-conceptualization is the main practice. Subsequent attainment arises from the power of manifest realization, possessing the nature of conventional wisdom, and initiating the teaching of Dharma. Someone says: How are these summarized? It is unreasonable to show that these summarize all virtuous Dharmas, because it has not been done as stated. This is not a fault, for if these summarize all virtuous Dharmas, then in reality all virtuous Dharmas also show that they summarize these. All virtuous Dharmas are threefold: generosity and so forth, faith and so forth, and from mindfulness to powers and so forth. Regarding this, it is summarized by its characteristics.
