Etc., aim at that. Just by that, even the distinctions like "yi" etc. will not become the words of the Buddha, keeping in mind the changes in other situations. These ten grounds accomplish the great Bodhi, etc., it is said. That is both Bodhi and great, or it is the Bodhi of the great ones, so it is the great Bodhi. It is the nature of the difference between wisdom and abandonment. The obscurations of afflictions and knowledge should be abandoned, because that is abandoned, immaculate wisdom is unobstructed, this is the four aspects of Bodhi. It is like what was said. Those that accomplish and obtain that are these ten grounds, not the six entities or the chief one etc., so those are not the Buddha's teachings. What is called very reasonable is because it possesses प्रमाण (pramāṇa, valid cognition). It will be determined from below in this way. What is called concordant is because it can manifest, it is a synonym for following. What is called without contradiction is because it is without fault. Just as knowing the six entities etc., or the Hearer's Vehicle has faults and does not agree with the Buddha himself, these ten grounds are not like that. Here, mentioning "verses" is to show the meaning of what was said before and what will appear later. Just like "not seen in other places" etc., it explains in detail the manifestation of great Bodhi, and the necessity and reasonableness of the number and order. Just like the Bodhisattva initially relies on being skilled in the causes of all dharmas, from this cause this result arises, the cause of this result is this, thus being skilled in dependent origination. Moreover, without showing the cause, it cannot be known. The cause is the ālaya-vijñāna, which is shown after abandoning the causeless and discordant causes. After that, by abandoning the extremes of superimposition and defamation, the characteristics of those dharmas of dependent origination are understood. Holding non-existence and existence together as one is superimposition. Defaming and eliminating existence is defamation. Superimposition and defa

These two extremes are terms called precipices. If one abides in these two, one will completely deviate from the Middle Way. Being skilled in abandoning these two is to correctly and individually examine, not adding or denying what is non-existent, the completely imputed, because they are non-existent. Because one slanders what exists. One does not add to what is other-powered, because they exist. Because one adds to what is non-existent. Nor does one slander, because they exist merely as illusions. One does not add to the perfectly established, because they exist. Therefore, one does not slander. Or, being skilled in abandoning the extremes of addition and slander here is because one does not add to what is other-powered, the completely imputed, because they do not exist, and because the perfectly established exists, one does not slander. Relying on such skill in abandoning the two extremes and understanding the three natures, one should realize the characteristics of knowable objects as mentioned above by means of mere consciousness. Understanding is realization, which is entering and actualizing. Or, through what does one realize? After that, entering into the six perfections of conventional truth that are in accordance with mere consciousness, one should realize them as they are, completely grasping them with pure higher intention. Aspiration and devotion are intention, because after understanding, they are grasped by faith, so at that time these two are even more excellent. Entering is the same meaning as actualizing perfect enlightenment. One should train in the three trainings in the ten grounds and cultivate them for three countless eons, thereby completely perfecting them. After that, one should obtain its fruit, which is abandoning the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations to knowledge, and obtaining the stainless and unobstructed omniscient wisdom. Thus, the intention of order and number, and being in accordance with great enlightenment, are also explained in terms of direct and indirect. The order is just this, and the number is just ten, neither few nor many. Because the fruit will become without difference, the path of the Hearers itself cannot become the path of the Buddha. With the Bodhisattva as the main focus, nowhere in the Hearer's Vehicle is the path of the Buddha taught.
