How can a place covered with gold and foreign soil, guarded by people wielding sticks and swords, with fragrant and cool water, and suitable things like dwellings and drinks, become the nature of emptiness? This is meaningless in external objects. After observation, it is permissible to appear there, as it is said: A woman's body is unique, considered a corpse and an object of desire, these are the three kinds of discrimination of universally wandering greedy dogs. It's like saying this. For the past and future, according to the Sautrāntika school, consciousness is established without an object. Dreams are also like that. The image of the object of meditation has already been said, because it appears in front, so it is said to be unmemorable. The images of faces and so on that appear in mirrors and so on, just like they are nothing, have been said before, and for these, consciousness is established without an object. To transform without effort and without inversion, because it is clear, I have not made an effort to explain it separately. If, like the object of focus, one truly realizes all phenomena, then with true vision, sentient beings can be liberated without effort. The so-called meditator refers to Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, meditation refers to the virtue of one-pointedness of mind. Those who have the state of practicing meditation are meditators. The so-called those who have obtained mastery over the mind refers to those who have obtained the pliancy of the mind. Faith means to believe, to trust. The so-called because of this means that, as believed, time and so on appear as things like water. The so-called those who have attained tranquility refers to those who have attained samādhi, tranquility and samādhi are the same meaning. Because it pacifies the distraction of the mind, it is tranquility. The so-called yogi refers to the union of tranquility and insight that focuses on emptiness or on the four noble truths, and has a state of naturally merging, these people are yogis. After them, for phenomena such as non-attainment, insight is called wisdom. The so-called those who are diligent in this refers to those who are diligent.

Maso. When engaging in higher seeing (vipassanā) on the sutras and other teachings, even a single meaning such as impermanence appears in various ways as one contemplates on things like momentary destruction. Those who have attained non-conceptual wisdom and abide in it, all things do not appear to them. The non-conceptual wisdom will be explained below. If that thing exists, it cannot be non-conceptual; if there is something to be conceptualized, then it is not appropriate to be non-conceptual. If the thing is indeed real, even if non-conceptual wisdom arises, it will not become non-apparent, because it focuses on the real thing. Thus, it concludes that even with the reasoning just mentioned and the previously explained lineage, it is meaningless. How is it dependent on others? This is synonymous with "one should know for oneself." Why is that? This is synonymous with "to be said to others." Similarly, for the two natures, there are also two questions each. The answers to these questions are also two each. The so-called "seed of one's own habit" and so on, are shown as the habit of the completely imputed, because it is dominated by one's own seed, so it is dependent on others, and one should know for oneself. Because it does not remain longer than a moment, it is said to others. The dependence on others of the seed, and the dependence on others of arising and ceasing, are in order. The so-called "abiding in it" refers to relying on dependence on others. The so-called "meaningless," if it does not exist, then how can it be called a thing? This is a refutation. The so-called "appearance" is that although it does not exist from the seed of explicit expression, it appears like a thing, therefore it is called a thing. Appearance is synonymous with clarity, manifestation, and very clear. The so-called "having immeasurable forms" refers to the mind consciousness that appears with various and limitless things such as self and phenomena as objects, which is imputation. The so-called "inverted" refers to delusion, because it is the cause of the appearance of the meaning of the grasped and the grasper, therefore it is completely imputed, and therefore, it is imputed in meaning.
